P J Pilates - Mon

P J Pilates - Mon My name is Pam Jeffrey. I have been practising Pilates myself for over 18 years and am passionate about the benefits it can bring to all aspects of life.

Having been in education for 30 years I took stock of my life (a mid-life crisis??), left the teaching profession and qualified as a Pilates instructor 5 yrs ago. I am keen to share my love of Pilates with anyone who is prepared to try it. Pilates for me is the use of slow, gentle, precise, thoughtful movements that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of my body. Pilates teaches me how to use the breath to maximise the control of small, yet powerful movements and how to develop the stabilising (core) muscles of the body, which are generally under used and weak. The Pilates that I teach will not make you hot and sweaty, but it will make you stronger and more stable. It will challenge your body by using small and subtle movements that promote good posture, flexibility and controlled breathing. At the same time you will develop leaner and firmer muscle tone.

Hello.
I’ve not posted on here for a while…. I’m still here!!
There has been a lot of interest recently so here is some info you might find useful.

I have very limited space in my classes in Llangefni. These are on Tuesday at 9.00, 10.20 and 11.40.
I also have a ‘seated’ class on Thursday afternoons , for those who struggle to access the floor.

In addition I have a small garden studio where you and up to two others/ friends can join together to form a mini class! This could be a 1 off session, or weekly, fortnightly , monthly sessions.

Get in touch if you want to know more.
Pam x

What is self -care?
I’m going to start with what it is not…..Self- care is not about a body wash (Dove for Men), that’s called basic hygiene!!
Self-care is about listening, listening to our bodies / minds and working with them to achieve an improved sense of balance and harmony. It is an on-going process, like any ‘relationship’ it requires time and effort. It is not a one-off , overnight fix, but a change in outlook, perspective, lifestyle, life choices? This culminates in an improved sense of well-being, that allows us to be present and care for those around us, rather than being ‘burnt out’ and empty beings.
Self care could be a walk, sitting and observing nature, watching the sky, having a chat with a friend, going for a swim, meditating, an exercise class, a soak in a bubbly bath, reading a good book.
It is about taking time for yourself, to ‘fill yourself up’ .

I haven’t posted on here for a while. I haven’t gone away… just quietly getting on with it!
I have been developing my knowledge of all things connective tissue/fascia with workshops and training from The Gravity Technique , which has been (and hopefully will continue to be ) very informative and exciting! Hence the posts from Caz, who IS TGT!
