There’s something about summer that makes us want to throw open the windows and get our lives in order...

But before you dive into that chaotic cupboard or finally tackle the wardrobe of doom - listen to this first 🎙

This month on Take 5 to Thrive, I’m joined by the amazing Sharon McNulty of Joyful Spaces—a KonMari-trained, globe-trotting organiser (currently helping a client move house in NYC 👀).

Inside this juicy episode, we chat:

✨ How your home affects your mental clarity
✨ Why organising is about more than just “tidying up”
✨ The emotions behind decluttering
✨ What to do before you buy another storage basket
✨ Sharon’s top 5 tips for creating calm, joyful spaces—at home or work

If you’re craving space, clarity and a reset this summer—
➡️ This episode is your permission slip to begin.

It’s kind of ironic really…
I spend my days reminding women to rest before they break.
To say no without the guilt.
To stop tying their worth to how much they get done.

And yet?
I’m replying to DMs at 11pm.
Skipping lunch without even realising.
Pushing through when my body’s literally screaming for a pause.

Because knowing what to do? That part’s easy.
But actually unlearning the habit of carrying everything quietly?
That’s the hard bit.

No shame here just honesty and we’re all working on it. And I’d rather do it imperfectly than not at all🫶. If this sounds like you too, drop a “ME TOO” below.
Let’s be real about what it means to actually take our own advice.

It’s officially the first day of summer…
And here’s your gentle reminder:

You don’t need to tone up, shrink down or glow up to earn this season. Your Summer body is the one you already have!
So wear the bikini
Book the break.
Say yes to joy.
And no to the pressure.

This summer, we’re choosing freedom over fear and celebrating the bodies that carry us, not criticising them.

Longer days, warmer weather, a bit of freedom in the air.

But if you’re anything like me (and the women I speak to every day), it can feel quite the opposite.

Suddenly, it’s school trips, leavers’ assemblies, sports days and exam stress - and somehow, you are the one holding it all.

And just as that chaos begins, summer juggling starts.
Childcare plans. Diaries clashing. Trying to book a family break that doesn’t break you in the process - all while you’re still working or spinning the home life plates.

Then there’s that quiet mid-year voice whispering:
"Shouldn’t I have done more by now?"
"Why do I still feel behind?"

Add in menopause, rising temperatures, broken sleep, moods that swing without warning… and an emotional load no one sees.

No wonder June can quietly push us to the edge.

If that’s where you are right now — I want you to know you’re not alone.
This month I’ve planned content that meets you where you are:
💜 Gentle support
💜 Practical tools
💜 And space to breathe again

"Yep… we’ve all seen those headlines.
And maybe (just maybe) we’ve clicked on them too — hoping for a miracle before the holiday or that beach day with friends.

✋️But let’s get real for a second.
Is that really what summer is about?🤔
Starving ourselves, obsessing over every carb, and covering up because we don’t look like a bikini model?

Nope! We’re too smart (and too tired 😅) for that.

The truth?
You don’t need to lose 10 pounds to deserve joy, fun, or a second scoop of ice cream.
You just need to ditch the pressure and start being a little kinder to the incredible body that’s carried you this far.

This post isn’t a weight-loss plan. It’s a mindset shift💪
One that says you’re enough as you are - yes, even with the wobbly bits, the stretch marks, and the “not like I used to be” days.

So if you’ve ever felt like you had to “fix” yourself before summer, this one’s for you!

“Drop 10lbs before your holiday!”
“Get your beach body in 6 weeks!”

Let’s be honest - we’ve all seen them.
But here’s the truth: you don’t need to shrink to enjoy summer.
You don’t need to change to deserve sunshine, swimsuits, or fun.

We’re flipping the script.

If you’re navigating perimenopause, midlife shifts or just sick of being told your body is a problem - this blog is for you. 💚

In this month’s blog, I’m breaking down the harmful myth of the “summer body” and how to reclaim summer on your terms.

You give when you have little left.
You care deeply, even when no one is watching.

Ladies, let this be your reminder: You don’t need to prove yourself to anyone. You don’t need to meet unrealistic expectations or keep up with anyone else’s timeline. Right now, your only priority should be you - your growth, your happiness, and your well-being.
Bettering yourself doesn’t mean perfection. It means choosing yourself daily. It’s about setting boundaries, healing, learning, and stepping into the most confident, empowered version of yourself.
So, whether you're focusing on self-care, chasing a dream, or simply learning to love yourself a little more, know that every step forward is a step toward the woman you’re becoming. And that’s something worth working on. 💕

Stress has a way of creeping in, but small, intentional actions can make a big difference. Here are five simple strategies to help you feel more balanced:

1️⃣ Start with your breath. When stress builds up, take a moment to breathe deeply. Inhale slowly for four counts, hold for another four, and exhale for four. This simple practice can calm your mind and body in minutes, grounding you in the present moment.

2️⃣ Move your body. Physical activity is one of the best ways to release pent-up tension. You don’t need a long workout - even a 10 minute walk outside - you can work wonders for reducing stress and boosting your mood.

3️⃣ Write it out. Sometimes, our thoughts can feel like a tangled web. Grab a journal or a piece of paper and jot down everything that’s on your mind. Putting your feelings into words can help clear mental clutter and provide clarity.

4️⃣ Unplug for a while. Constant notifications and the endless scroll can make stress worse. Give yourself permission to step away from social media and digital distractions, even for a short time. Let your mind rest and recharge.

5️⃣ Do something you love. When life feels overwhelming, reconnect with what brings you joy. Whether it’s curling up with a good book, tending to your plants, or dancing in your kitchen, doing something you love can instantly lift your spirits and ease stress.

💬 What’s your go-to stress relief tip? Let’s share ideas and support each other!

Your body is always sending signals when it's running low on essential nutrients, sometimes in ways you wouldn’t expect! Here are three surprising signs to pay attention to:
Cracks at the corners of your mouth - This can be a sign of low iron, zinc, or vitamin B(especially B2 and B6). These nutrients play a key role in skin health and repair.
Frequent fatigue - Feeling tired all the time, even after rest, could indicate deficiencies in vitamin D, magnesium, or iron. These nutrients are crucial for energy production and muscle function.
Brittle nails or hair - Weak, thinning hair, or nails can often be traced to a lack of biotin, iron, or other essential vitamins that support growth and strength.

If you notice these symptoms, consider reviewing your diet, adding nutrient-rich foods, or consulting a healthcare provider to check for deficiencies. Addressing these issues early can make a big difference in how you feel!
