🦠 NOROVIRUS🦠
is unfortunately circulating within our local Communities!

Often called the Winter vomiting bug, it can strike at any time of year, but it’s more common throughout the Winter.

It spreads easily and causes symptoms like vomiting, diarrhoea, mild fever, and headaches.
While unpleasant, it’s usually not dangerous.

🤢If you become unwell:

✅ Stay home until you’ve been symptom-free for 2–3 days
✅ Drink plenty of fluids (water is best)
✅ Rest and recover
✅ Avoid preparing food for others
✅ Don’t visit friends, relatives, hospitals, care homes
✅ Wash your hands regularly
✅ Don’t share towels or toothbrushes
✅ Clean household surfaces

🔺WHY ARE MEDICINES WASTED??🔺

Sometimes patients receive medicines they don’t actually use, or use only occasionally.
This means that they can lose out on the intended health benefits of their prescription.
By reducing the amount of medicines being wasted each year, we could increase the available funding for other desperately needed health services.

PLEASE LET YOUR GP OR PHARMACIST KNOW:

*if you have difficulty taking your medicines‼️
*if you have stopped taking any medicines‼️

Tell your GP if, after taking your medicine:

*you are not feeling better‼️
*you are suffering side-effects‼️
*you don’t believe the medicine is right for you‼️

Your pharmacist will be able to explain:

*what your medicine is for
*why you need to take it
*how to take your medicine
*confirm it is the right medicine, if it looks different

PLEASE SHARE this important information where possible with any elderly family members or friends that may not be on social media.
Asking them the above vital questions and even assisting them with issues, enquiries or any concerns they may have with regards to their medicines and repeat prescriptions.

We are encouraging people to get their blood pressure regularly checked as HIGH blood pressure is the biggest risk factor for having a stroke!

Both our Pharmacies sell Blood Pressure Monitors but we don’t offer blood pressure checks.
Please enquire with your Doctor about this if you are concerned.
