We have recently launched our new art and craft group with the Create and Chat Collective. During our first session, residents enjoyed making coasters and bookmarks, showcasing creativity while enjoying good conversation.

Create and Chat Collective are based in Monifieth and are a community interest company dedicated to delivering high-quality, inclusive creative arts education. They believe strongly in the transformative power of the arts and will now be joining us fortnightly to help residents create many more fabulous pieces.

We are excited to welcome Totstars, run by sisters Clare and Jill. Totstars is a drama-led sensory company delivering sessions to all ages, from newborns to the elderly, as well as individuals with complex needs.

The benefits of these sessions include reduced anxiety, improved cognitive function, and increased social engagement. Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed the sessions so far, and we look forward to experiencing a variety of themed sessions throughout the year that are sure to lift everyone’s spirits.

We were recently treated to a very special visit from Dash, our Home Manager’s new puppy. Dash is a 9-week-old show cocker and has already stolen many hearts during his visit. He has settled in well at home and is currently enjoying life with his two human sisters, who keep him very busy! His visit brought lots of smiles and cuddles to residents and staff alike.

Our flower Christmas wreath-making activity brought a touch of natural beauty into the home. Residents worked with seasonal greenery and decorative elements to create stunning wreaths, filling the room with colour and festive spirit.

This calming and hands-on activity was enjoyed by all, offering a chance to relax, be creative, and take pride in their beautiful creations.

We were delighted to host an in-house performance of Cinderella, which brought plenty of laughter and smiles to residents and staff alike. The familiar story, colourful costumes, and lively performances made for a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

We were treated to wonderful live music by Gus Zee, who filled the home with familiar melodies and toe-tapping tunes. Residents sang along, reminisced about favourite songs from years gone by, and had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Staff Spotlight: Abbie Robb 🌟

We are delighted to introduce Abbie Robb, one of our newest carers who joined us around four months ago. Abbie brings valuable experience from previous roles in both the care sector and customer-facing jobs, including retail, a chip shop, and an ice cream shop. Her friendly nature and enthusiasm have made her a wonderful addition to our team.

Creative Day at ‘Potter Rhoney’ 🎨

Our artistic residents enjoyed a creative outing to Arbroath’s “Potter Rhoney” pottery studio, where they painted their own ceramic pieces. The day was filled with colour, creativity, and pride as everyone produced beautiful keepsakes to take home.

Relaxing Sound-bath Experience 🎶

Residents enjoyed a truly calming and restorative Sound-bath meditation session, where they were bathed in the soothing vibrations of singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. The resonant sounds created a peaceful atmosphere, helping everyone unwind and embrace a sense of serenity and mindfulness.

Our residents have been keeping active with a wide variety of physical games. From practicing their putting skills and enjoying the laughter-filled game of balloon tennis, to joining in with Body Boosting Bingo, everyone had the chance to get moving while having fun.

We were delighted by a special Judy Garland–themed pantomime, which filled the room with singing, laughter and a little sparkle of nostalgia.
