In need of a relaxation session but low on time? Try out Lifesonics!

Listening to specific music can suppress stress hormones like cortisol and boost feel-good chemicals like dopamine, reducing stress and lifting mood. In just nine minutes, the right music can transition your mood from stressed to relaxed, with benefits such as muscle relaxation, lowered heart rate and blood pressure, and improved emotional regulation.

This research and our work in Sound Therapy birthed our music platform LifeSonics, in order to provide people with professionally composed music for specific emotional and physical purposes on the go.

Try it for free for 7 days at Lifesonics.com.

Feeling inspired after our Voice Webinar last night? Try a Voice Therapy technique at home! 🗣️

Take a moment to centre yourself, take a few breaths and begin to be aware of your surroundings and yourself within them. Focus in on your breath. Close your eyes and mouth and start humming on a low pitch, feel the sound resonate within you. Spend several minutes humming (ideally 5) and see how you feel.

Relaxed? You can learn more about the voice and how to apply it in therapeutic practice at our 2025 Voice Therapy courses: https://britishacademyofsoundtherapy.com/voice-therapy-all-courses/

Using sound to create atmosphere.

Our brains have evolved to respond to sound and music due to the way our brains have evolved over millions of years. Different sounds (whether they be music or nature sounds) can elicit different responses, so high pitched sudden and short sounds will stimulate the mind and body and low pitches will relax.

In sound relaxation people will use words such as ‘warm, rich and cuddly’ to describe the sound of the Himalayan singing bowls whereas the crystal singing bowls were found to be ‘cleansing, clear and cool’. We can harness this to create atmospheres for different requirements like treatment rooms, reception areas, or for winding down at home.
