I am sure everyone is aware of the terrible disaster that has impacted Monmouth. As a town we are heartbroken but as a community, we are strong. The streets are full of people helping each other. It goes without saying how incredibly proud we are of our team, and I will ensure that when things are a little calmer I will give them the Thanks they definitely deserve. However I wanted to take a moment to appreciate our County Councillor Mr Martin Tojo Newell for his dedication and response to this disaster. He has been everywhere, offering everything possible. Thank you for being present Councillor. There are so many companies who have jumped to the calls of help, and again, when things are calmer, I will express our gratitude. But for now, please stay safe and let's keep working together. Thank you Monmouth.

We are looking for an on call officer. We have an on call phone for out of hours emergencies. We are seeking someone to have the phone from 2pm until 10am, fixed days or week on/week off. Ideally this person would have experience in care or be willing to learn if they needed to cover sickness while they have the phone. Some nights the phone may not ring.

I am sure you have all read the devastating article in the local papers regarding a service provider not far from us. JSJ would like to ask you all to sign the petition and help another agency. Care is person centred, to remove people's choice and preference is against everything we do.

Our NHS is struggling under the winter pressures. Please read the information below to make informed decisions.

With the NHS struggling, JSJ are looking to recruit. We always need new carers to help things progress and the more people we can help in their homes, the less strain there will be on our NHS. If you are looking for a new career, please reach out. Full training provided, upto QCF Level 5.

As a result of sustained pressure and risk throughout the hospital system over the last week, we have declared a Critical Incident this afternoon.

We have taken this decision as our services are currently experiencing exceptional demand due to a combination of increased emergency attendances of very sick patients, high levels of winter virus infections on our wards, and an increase in the number of patients who are delayed in hospital awaiting discharge.

We continue to ask for your support by only attending if it is life threatening, or you have a very serious injury.

If you need medical help, please think carefully about the services you choose. Choosing the right place to receive advice and care will help us ensure that our Hospitals are not overwhelmed and enable us to provide timely treatment for patients most in need.

Please consider visiting your local pharmacy, your GP, visit https://111.wales.nhs.uk/selfassessments or call NHS 111 for advice. You can also ring 111 if you need to access urgent primary care when your own GP surgery is closed.

Our Minor Injury Units treat a range of injuries, such as:
• Limb injuries which include broken bones (fractures) and minor joint dislocations

• Head injuries provided there is no loss of consciousness or taking blood thinning drugs

2024 has been a bumpy ride for a lot of us. We have lost clients/friends, said goodbye to carers and hello to others. Social Care has never been more difficult than it is now. We are so grateful to our wonderful team who go above and beyond every single day.

This time of year can be so very hard for anyone who is alone or missing a loved one. If you know someone struggling please take 5 minutes to talk to them, have a cuppa with them. A little gesture can make someone's Christmas.

We at JSJ would like to wish our clients and their families a Happy Christmas. Care is an all year round job. Our wonderful carers don't get Christmas Day off, they spend it helping those who need them. From the bottom of my heart I thank our wonderful staff for their dedication and commitment. We wish you all a Happy and safe Christmas.

We hope you are all staying safe and dry in and around Monmouth tonight. We haven't seen floods like this for a while. We have attached a list of the current road closures. Please only travel when necessary. Our emergency services are working hard, we include us and all our fellow Care Agencies in that. Our team have ploughed through to ensure our clients are safe. JSJ staff, as always you have been wonderful. Thank you for your determination and hard work team! We are so grateful and proud of all of you.
