Cranial Sacral Therapist

Cranial Sacral Therapist What is Cranial-Sacral Therapy? Cranial Sacral Therapy evolved from Osteopathy in the early 1900’s.

It is a deeply relaxing treatment providing an opportunity for the Body to fully relax and regain a healthy balanced state. A non-invasive approach based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The aim is to relieve pain and tension while bringing the Mind, Body and Spirit into balance. By engaging with the body’s own internal healing mechanisms, the goal is to release any restrictions and restore balance and wellbeing. The following are just a few of the many conditions for which people seek treatment through Cranial-Sacral Therapy:

- Digestive problems
- Headache
- Migraine
- Asthma
- Period pains
- Bronchitis
- Back pain
- Stress
- Insomnia
- Sinusitis

Baby care:

- Colic
- Ear infections
- Feeding difficulties
- Birth trauma

CranioSacral Therapy does not claim to diagnose, cure or prescribe. How it works

As with the Cardio Vascular system where we can palpate the Cardio Rhythm, the Cranial Sacral System also has a Rhythm that we can engage with and it is felt throughout the whole body. Cerebrospinal Fluid is around the core of our Nervous Systems and it protects the Brain and Spinal Cord. Through everyday life, stresses and traumas can affect the flow of the Cerebrospinal fluid. Cranial Sacral Therapy is a process where the practitioner engages with the Cranial Rhythm and locates any restrictions to the flow of the Cerebrospinal Fluid assisting a release and allowing free flowing movement again. About the treatment:

Treatment is fully clothed and involves a very light contact of the Practitioner’s hands on the Cranium, Sacrum and other appropriate focal points of the Body. Treatment can help with many specific conditions and generally promotes good health.

Why Infants Have Cranial Injuries

During birth, infants’ skulls change to fit through the mother’s pelvis. The cranium bones may override each other in order to accommodate the birth process. Known as compression/decompression, it’s a normal process, and the bones usually go in back in place naturally. However, in some instances, especially if an infant is pulled too harshly, unnatural damages may occur to the bones, and in turn they may fail to heal properly. As a result, it can lead to a host of problems, such as motor impairment, breathing problems, digestive issues, and more...
