Whilst James and I (and Badger, of course) wish you all a peaceful and Merry Christmas, we know that it can be an extremely difficult time for those who have lost loved ones, be it recently or many years ago, and our thoughts are with you all.

Please take care of yourselves, allow some quiet time if needed, talk to friends or family, share happy memories, and don’t feel guilty in enjoying some laughter.

Even though our office may not be open as much as usual during the Christmas period, please rest assured that we are still here to support you and are always just a phone call away, any time of the day or night.

Here at Allen & Son, we are proud to work in partnership with MuchLoved, to provide personalised online memory pages, where family and friends can share memories, light virtual candles and make charitable donations in remembrance of their loved ones.

We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has made charitable donations over the past 12 months, and to all who have shared memories, photos and messages on our MuchLoved tribute pages.

With MuchLoved, we are able to offer free access to tribute pages, which can be shared with family and friends to help celebrate the life of their loved ones.

Joyce Peachey sadly passed away on the 7th December, aged 72 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Her funeral service will be a private committal in accordance with family wishes.

As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to our "Mince Pies & Memories" coffee and cake event yesterday afternoon, as well as another huge thank you to the volunteers from Cotswold Friends for their invaluable help.

It was so lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves whilst they chatted, ate cake, and tried their luck on the tombola and raffle.

All winners of the raffle have been notified, were delighted, and collected their winnings this morning.
(Thanks to The Manor House Hotel & White Hart Royal Hotel for their generous raffle prizes)

We were amazed at how generous you all had been when we counted up the money at the end of the day.....you all helped to raise a total of £575.00!!

Well, today is the day of our "Mince Pies & Memories" charity event.

The tombola and raffle are set up, and James' "Rudolph" shortbread are waiting to be swept off in your sleighs (shopping bags), and lots more cakes will be waiting for you to sample.

We are looking forward to seeing you all from 1pm today.

We’re pleased to announce the return of Light a Candle this Christmas!

Taking part in this Christmas’s Light a Candle gives you the opportunity to create online memorials throughout the festive period.

Christmas is a special time to celebrate with family and friends, and our virtual candles are a thoughtful way to pay tribute to loved ones who are no longer with us.

We'll be sharing virtual candles on our page between 15 and 21 December. There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.

We really can't believe how quickly time has gone by since we let you know the date, back in October, for our "Mince Pies & Memories" charity event.

Well, it's next Thursday, so we thought we should share a little reminder.

We have lots of lovely tombola prizes, and some great raffle prizes too. Oh, and not forgetting the yummy cakes!

As always, all funds raised on the day go to support the work of Cotswold Friends
