With the festive season upon us, we have put our "Memory Tree" in place today, with heart tags for you to write and hang on it's branches, in memory of loved ones lost. As you can see, there are a few already there.

It is such a difficult time of year for many people, so if you think it might bring a little comfort, pop in and place a heart on our tree, and maybe take one of our little candles home with you to light in their memory too.

Wishing you all strength and peace this weekend.

Did you know that some national direct cremation providers transport loved ones hundreds of miles away to centralised crematoria? This can mean delays, unexpected costs and a less personal experience for families.

At Allen & Son, we do things differently. As a local, independent funeral director, we offer:

A personal and compassionate approach
Local cremation, keeping your loved one close to home
Transparent pricing – no hidden extras
Support before, during, and after the cremation

Direct cremation can be a simple yet dignified choice, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Want to learn more? Contact us to chat through further details.

Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend.

Hope you are all staying warm and dry today in this awful weather!

Not long to go now until our "Mince Pies & Memories" charity event, and we now have our luxury hamper here (photo to show contents), and have received a couple of generous prizes to add to our raffle - Tea for Two at The Manor House Hotel, and Tea for Two at The White Hart Royal Hotel - Thank you so much!
So some lovely prizes to be won, and just £1.00 per ticket.

We also have many tombola prizes to be won, and James will be busy baking his delicious cakes nearer the time.

We look forward to seeing you on the day....Thursday 11th December, 1pm-4pm.

As always, all funds raised will help support Cotswold Friends

It was mine and James’ wedding anniversary this week – 15 years of being Mr & Mrs Drury. It made us both think of how quickly time flies by, but also how anniversaries make you reflect on life – we are both so proud and privileged to be able to work together, side by side, in the profession that we do. To support and guide families through one of the worst times in their lives whilst caring for their loved ones with the utmost dignity and respect. We really can’t put into words how honoured we feel, and then how humbling it is when we receive such lovely feedback from families:

Shared with the kind permission of the family:
Diane and James were absolutely wonderful at what was a very difficult time for us. The support they provided was sensitive and compassionate and delivered in a kind and caring manner while remaining professional and dignified. Everything was communicated and explained clearly and there was no pressure to make any decisions until we were ready to do so. Nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail was first class. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Of course, we love to support our community too, with our regular coffee mornings, which are always very much enjoyed by everyone attending, whilst raising valuable funds to support the work of Cotswold Friends

(Photo is from our anniversary trip to The Tower of London poppy display in 2014)

Thinking of our loved ones and remembering all those lives lost this Remembrance Sunday.

Thank you to you all for all your support.

We’re proud to display the Golden Charter seal.

The Golden Charter seal represents trust, reassurance, and connection.

For us, it shows that we’re part of a nationwide network of independent funeral directors who share the same standards of care and professionalism.

When families see the seal, they know they can rely on us - a local, independent business supported by one of the UK’s largest funeral plan providers.*

*Based on a Golden Charter analysis and independent research of the funeral plan market size as of December 2024.

Please get in touch for further details.
