🎭✨ New Year’s Eve Panto Fun in Chipping Campden ✨🎭

Some of our theatre-loving residents enjoyed a fabulous New Year’s Eve afternoon out at the Cidermill Theatre in Chipping Campden, where they were treated to a traditional family pantomime — Sleeping Beauty.

With all the classic ingredients of a great panto, the show had everyone joining in with the groan-worthy puns, slapstick humour, and much-loved audience participation. There were plenty of enthusiastic cries of “Behind you!”, “Oh no it isn’t!” and a very hearty “Boo, hiss!” whenever the wicked witch appeared on stage. 🍿😄

An ice cream in the interval added to the treat, and Jean even posed for a photo with the cast at the end of the show. It was a joyful, laughter-filled afternoon and a wonderful way to see in the New Year.

🦔🌿 Wildlife Wonders at Esmere Gardens 🌿🦔

We’ve recently discovered that our gardens at Esmere Gardens are being enjoyed by some lovely wildlife visitors. We were thrilled to capture footage of a visiting hedgehog and one of our many curious pheasant guests exploring the grounds. 🐦✨

One of our residents, Barry, kindly donated his hedgehog house to be placed in the garden — just in case our prickly visitor would like to hibernate with us over winter. The pheasant even popped up at the pub lounge window for a quick look around before dashing off to explore elsewhere!

Our residents love knowing that wildlife shares their garden, bringing a sense of tranquillity, connection with nature, and moments of gentle wonder that support wellbeing throughout the seasons. 💛

🍂✨ November Round-Up at Esmere Gardens! ✨🍂

November has been a wonderfully heart-warming month here at Esmere Gardens, filled with music, creativity, celebrations, and community moments that brought joy to residents and staff alike. We welcomed the arrival of The Esmere Singers, discovered quite by accident during our lively MindSong afternoon when a joyful chorus of “I’m Getting Married in the Morning” filled the room. Creativity flourished too, as residents crafted beautiful autumn wreaths using foraged materials, bringing the season’s colours indoors. Our month also included an exciting adventure aboard the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway, where inclusive travel and stunning countryside views made it a day to remember.

Music played a starring role throughout November. From Nicki’s energetic drum fitness session (complete with opera finale), to Barry’s toe-tapping 50s–70s classics, and Philip Hayman’s mellow viola concert, our home was alive with rhythm, nostalgia, and smiles. We also loved welcoming the Moreton Beaver Scouts for a delightfully spooky intergenerational Halloween craft session — a memory that residents cherished. And our furry friends, Jenna and Julie the rabbits, returned for cuddles, bringing plenty of comfort and calm.

We had celebrations too, with joyful birthdays for Ted and Eddie — complete with cake, gifts, and a new Newcastle United cap for our super fan! There were also competitive laughs during our much-loved Cover the Number games, and a touching moment as Gretel completed a jigsaw again with pride and delight. We were especially thrilled to be recognised by The Daily Sparkle as Care Setting of the Month, highlighting the value of our popular Sparkle Time sessions and the dedication of our wonderful team.

November reminded us just how special daily life can be when filled with connection, creativity, and kindness. As we head toward the festive season, we look forward to even more moments that celebrate the spirit of Esmere Gardens — where life is truly for living. 💛

🎄✨ Festive Fun with Moreton Rainbow Scouts ✨🎄

We were delighted to welcome the Moreton Rainbow Scouts to Esmere Gardens, where they showed our residents how to make traditional Christmas crackers. It was a wonderful intergenerational afternoon, filled with laughter, creativity, and festive chatter as residents and children worked side by side. 🎁💛

The session ended on a high note when the Rainbows led everyone in a selection of charming Christmas carols and songs, filling the home with true festive spirit. The Rainbows proudly earned their Christmas badges — and in a lovely gesture, they also presented our residents with a badge of their own to remember the day. A truly heart-warming visit enjoyed by all. 🌟

🎄🧶 Getting Crafty with Christmas Jumpers & Cards 🧶🎄

Creativity continued as residents transformed plain jumpers into festive masterpieces and designed 3D Christmas cards using air-dried modelling clay and tissue paper.

The result? Colourful, textured Christmas tree cards and plenty of laughter along the way. A wonderful celebration of imagination and festive fun. ✨
