In aesthetics, trends move fast. A new treatment launches, it floods your feed, and suddenly everyone’s offering it. But just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’s safe or right for you.

We’ve seen this with treatments like Endolift and radiofrequency devices. While radiofrequency can absolutely be effective, we’re now seeing more reports of fat loss, scarring, and long-term changes when it’s used incorrectly, especially around delicate areas of the face.

The truth is: it’s not always the device that’s the problem. It’s how, where, and who is using it.

Experience and ethical practice matter. A responsible practitioner will know which areas need extra caution and which should be avoided entirely.

At SG Aesthetics, we take a considered approach to every treatment plan. We don’t chase trends. We prioritise your long-term results and facial integrity over hype.

After having injectable treatments like filler, skin boosters or anti-wrinkle, it’s important to give your skin time to heal and settle properly. Here’s what we recommend at the clinic:

What not to do:
❌ Avoid wearing makeup for at least 24 hours
❌ No gym, alcohol or saunas for 24 hours
❌ Don’t touch, rub or massage the area

These things can all increase your risk of irritation, swelling or bruising—and may affect your final result.

What you should do:
✅ Stay well hydrated to support healing from the inside out
✅ Use a gentle cleanser and keep the area clean
✅ Stick to light activities and allow your skin to rest

Everyone’s skin responds differently, so if you ever feel unsure just reach out. We’re here to help you get the best results, safely.

If you’ve never seen plasma treatment before, the tiny red marks might look a little intense, but they’re completely normal and an essential part of the process.

What you’re seeing here is controlled thermal trauma created using advanced plasma technology. It stimulates the body’s natural healing response, triggering new collagen production and tightening the skin over time.

In this case, we’re treating skin laxity in the neck area, targeting fine lines, texture and firmness without surgery.

Downtime is only a few days, with the skin looking more like sun burn, and results develop gradually over the coming weeks as the skin regenerates.

Also known as “smokers’ lines” or “lipstick lines,” these vertical creases around the mouth are a common concern, often caused by natural ageing, repetitive movement, and collagen loss.

This patient wanted a smoother, softer appearance without changing the shape of her lips. By carefully restoring volume and supporting the surrounding tissue, we were able to soften the lines while keeping the result natural.

No overfilling, just subtle restorative work that blends beautifully with the rest of the face.

The colder months can take a real toll on your skin. Between biting winds, indoor heating, and lower humidity levels, it’s common to feel dry, tight, or more sensitive than usual.

Here are 5 essential skincare tips we recommend every winter to keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and glowing:

1️⃣ Hydrate Inside & Out
Skin loses moisture faster in winter, so drink plenty of water and layer up with hydrating serums and moisturisers. Think hyaluronic acid and barrier-repair creams.

2️⃣ Switch to Gentle Products
Now’s the time to press pause on foaming cleansers or heavily active products that can strip the skin. Opt for cream-based cleansers and fragrance-free moisturisers to protect the skin barrier.

3️⃣ Use SPF Daily
Yes, even in winter! UV rays don’t disappear when it’s cold. They can still cause damage, especially with reflective surfaces like snow. A broad spectrum SPF is a year-round essential.

4️⃣ Don’t Over Exfoliate
While exfoliation helps remove dry, dead skin cells, overdoing it in winter can worsen sensitivity and cause irritation. Stick to gentle acids once or twice a week max.

5️⃣ Add in a Nourishing Night Cream
A thicker night cream or oil can help repair and lock in moisture while you sleep, supporting your skin’s overnight recovery process.

If your skin’s feeling out of balance or you’re not sure what products to switch out for winter, we’re always happy to help tailor your skincare to the season.

November is always one of our busiest months, with many patients booking in ahead of Christmas and New Year. If you’re planning to have a treatment done before the holidays, we recommend securing your appointment early to avoid disappointment.

Whether you’re topping up your usual treatment or getting ready for a special occasion, we’re here to help you look and feel your best.

This patient underwent a course of 3 Exosome Hair Restoration sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, and the results speak for themselves.

Exosomes are an exciting advancement in regenerative aesthetics, helping to stimulate new hair growth, improve hair density, and reduce shedding. Ideal for both men and women experiencing thinning or patchy hair.

We always recommend a course of treatments for optimal results, and as you can see here, gradual progress makes a lasting difference. If you’ve been concerned about hair thinning, we’d be happy to talk through your options in a consultation.

“I’m worried about bruising…”
“Will the treatment hurt?”
“Will it still look natural?”

These are all completely normal concerns and they’re exactly the kind of questions people ask during their consultation.

✨ Bruising? It’s possible, but I always work carefully and use techniques that help reduce the risk. Most patients find it minimal, if anything at all.
✨ Pain? With topical numbing and a gentle approach, most describe treatments as mildly uncomfortable at most. Your comfort always comes first.
✨ Natural results? Always. My goal is subtle, soft enhancement that suits your face, not to change how you look.

You’re not expected to know everything, that’s what I’m here for. If you’ve got questions, let’s have a chat.

This month is a powerful reminder of the importance of checking in with your health, and with yourself. So many of our patients, friends and family have been affected by breast cancer over the years. Some found changes during self-examination, but many had theirs picked up through routine mammograms.

Early detection truly does save lives. Whether it's booking your mammogram or making breast checks a regular habit, please take a moment this month to prioritise your health.

✨ Full Face Rejuvenation – 18 Months On ✨

This patient had full face rejuvenation with dermal fillers, and her results are looking incredible 18 months later.

When performed with precision, dermal fillers don’t just offer an immediate lift, they provide lasting structure, support, and subtle rejuvenation that continues to enhance natural beauty over time.

Seeing this kind of longevity is a reminder of the power of carefully placed treatments that are designed to complement, not change, your features.
