The Surgery will be closed on the afternoon of Thursday 20th November 2025 from 1pm for clinical staff training which has been provided by Cwm Taf Morgannwg Heath Board across Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr.
From 1.00pm on the 20th November our telephone system will move to an automated message providing contact details for a covering GP team. This team will only be able to deal with urgent medical problems that cannot wait until the following day. They will not be able to deal with general enquiries.
Please remember that you should ring 999 for medical emergencies or 111 for NHS health advice.
The Surgery will be open as normal from 8:00am the following day, Friday 21st November 2025.

Bore da! No we haven’t completely lost the plot at the surgery - there’s a reason that our tree is up early. Our health visitors have set up a gift tree to help children within our community who may be less fortunate this year. Please support if you can- just take a gift tag and return the gift wrapped with the tag attached. Diolch yn fawr 😁💕

🤧🦠DROP-IN FLU CLINIC🦠🤧
SATURDAY 18TH OCTOBER
If you are eligible for a flu vaccination, please call into the surgery this coming Saturday between 10am-11.30am to be vaccinated. If you have already booked an appointment please attend at the time you have been given.

‼️Important Notice: Clinical System Migration
The practice will be switching to a new clinical system on the 19th of November 2025‼️

As a result, we will not be able to access ANY aspect of your medical records from 12 noon on Wednesday 12th November.
This means that we will be running at a significantly reduced service and will have the capacity to deal with urgent matters only.

Our online functions such as the NHS Wales App will also be unavailable during this period.

PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS
If your repeat medication is due the week beginning the Monday 10th November and Wednesday 19th November, we ask that you put your request in week commencing 3rd November. If you do have enough medication to last you, please order after 20th November. Please note we will not be able to access your notes and issue routine repeat medication during this downtime.
Ahead of the system downtime we will be issuing double prescriptions for eligible patients in the month of October.

APPOINTMENTS
We will still be operating our sit and wait clinics for urgent and acute issues but please be aware we will not be able to access your clinical record for test results, therapy or medical history record during the period 12th to 19th November.

NEW PATIENT REGISTRATION REQUESTS
Whilst we will still be accepting patients to register with us, we will not be able to enter your details onto our clinical system during the period 12th to 19th November.

This transition will cause extra upheaval for all staff and patients, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please contact the surgery if you are taken ill during this downtime in the normal manner. Alternatively, please use your local Pharmacy or ring 111 for advice.

🦠 FLU CLINICS 2025 🦠

Flu vaccinations will be available at the surgery from the 1st October by appointment. We are holding Saturday flu vaccination clinics on the 4th and 18th October. Please telephone the surgery in 01443 706700 to book your appointment.

If you or a family member are housebound, please telephone the surgery to be added to our housebound flu vaccination list.

All patients aged 65 and over are eligible for a flu vaccination. Patients under 65 are eligible if they are in an ‘at-risk’ category.
