You probably know a child who would be described as being ‘on the spectrum’ or who has had or is waiting for a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

But are there really more children living with autism now than a few decades ago, or are we simply better at spotting the signs and diagnosing now?

We chatted with Dr Hannah Hobson, lecturer in Psychology, who leads a specialist research lab on autism and language disorders to answer all your questions and dispel the myths and misunderstandings about autism and the autism ‘spectrum’.

Data showed that cases of Whooping Cough rose in the UK in 2024 and while we don't yet have stats for 2025, it's important that you know the signs to look out for.

The UK Health Security Agency warned of a steady decline in uptake of the vaccine in pregnant women and children. Please chat with your health visitor or midwife about vaccination.
