Golf is a game of repeatability

I’ve been saying this for years, your golf swing is a picture of your bodies limitations, a combination of compensations resulting in an inconsistent move.

One of my clients John who is an ultra runner came to me with an IT band injury.
John phoned me today to thank me, telling me he’d completed his training run of 100km of the West Highland Way in 13hrs.
100km with elevation changes totalling 1000m, he is training to do the whole thing of 150km which he hopes to do in 21hrs.

Some area’s he’s had an issue historically through his playing career, and some that are caused by not playing as much and coaching more.
People’s jobs invariably contribute to how they move.
His top take away is “why are people not getting this done more often” 😊

Poor mobility is something I see everyday, it can creep up on you over time and you might not even be aware,
If your mobility is Ltd every swing is a compensation which isn’t consistently repeatable.
This is what better players do, they have much more consistency of strike

Miguel Angel Jiminez is a prime example of the importance that good mobility has in the repeatability of a Professional golfers swing.
We can buy the same clubs, use the same golf balls, wear the same clothes but unless you are working on your mobility we aren’t playing the same game.
Thru working with county level players upto European and LET tour players the difference between them and your average club golfer is that they recognise the correlation between limited or stiff mobility and a poor day on the golf course trying to consistently repeat their swing to match their expectations.
The thing is it doesn’t take a lot to improve your mobility gaining more consistency and even adding distance, not just with one club as promised with your new driver but all your clubs.
