Christmas can mean many things to many people. For some, it is a time of happiness, celebration and togetherness; for others, it may bring memories of loss, grief, or the hardships faced over the past year.

To those looking forward to the festive season with joy and anticipation, we hope your Christmas is filled with warmth and happiness. To anyone experiencing sadness or carrying the weight of bereavement, please know that you are very much in our thoughts. This can be a tender and emotional time of year, and we encourage kindness, understanding, and compassion for one another.

We are truly grateful for the trust our community places in us. It is a privilege to support families at such difficult moments, and we sincerely thank you for allowing us to care for your loved ones. Your confidence in us is something we never take for granted.

Sadly, at his home, on Sunday, 21st December 2025, James Ferguson Renton (Jim) of Sutors Park, Nairn, aged 87 years, beloved husband of Anne, a much loved father of Karen, Joanne and the late Mark, a dear father-in-law of Steven and the late Stan, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather and a sadly missed relative and friend. Memorial service at David M Ellen’s Chapel, Grantown Road, Nairn, IV12 5AP on Tuesday, 30th December at 12 noon. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu, if desired, may be given at the service to Cancer Research UK.

A devoted husband of Doreen, much loved father to Sylvia, Diane and Neil, a dear father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Funeral service at United Reformed Church, Nairn on Wednesday, 31st December at 10.00am, thereafter to Auldearn Cemetery. All friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only. Donations may be given at the service to Alzheimer Scotland. A true friend to many, whose kindness and integrity will be deeply missed.

Suddenly but peacefully, at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on Tuesday, 9th December 2025, after a short illness borne with humour, great dignity and amazing independence, Christina Montgomery Chisholm (née Robb), aged 91 and a half years, a dearly loved and soulmate of the late John, a proud mum of Lynne, David, Ann, Ellen, Elizabeth and Grace, a fun and loving nana of Leanne, Donna, Garry, David, Gavin, Stephen, Lynne, Craig, Lee, Dayne, Jamie, Maisie and Rosie, also a very much loved great nana, great-great nana, mother-in-law, sister, aunt and friend. Funeral service at Inverness Crematorium on Wednesday, 24th December at 1.00pm. All friends respectfully invited. Wearing something festive would be appreciated. Family flowers only please.
