Our dispensing team have a combined experience of over 75 years in the optical industry. Experts in spectacle frames and lenses, our team will assist in helping you make the right choices when it comes to choosing your new glasses.The practice has made significant investment in the latest diagnostic technology available including Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) and retinal photography. Our lovely dispenser Kate recently got fitted with some amazing new Physio Extensee varifocal lenses, which feature polarised transition grey technology and the innovative Crizal Drive.
She's absolutely thrilled with the results, particularly when it comes to the impressive glare reduction she's experiencing on those bright, sunny days. No more squinting or discomfort from the intense sunlight! And what's more, she's also noticed a significant improvement when driving at night, with the headlight reflection reduced by a whopping 90%! This means she can focus on the road ahead with confidence, without being distracted by annoying glare from oncoming traffic. Overall, Kate is thoroughly enjoying the enhanced visual comfort and clarity that her new lenses provide.

Our photos show the practice from pre-practice to almost present day.
The practice was founded in 1888 by a chemist optician known only as Mr. Turner. In the early 20th century, Mr. Turner's daughter married an optometrist, Mr. S.W. Jackson, who subsequently took over the business. Mid-to-late 20th century, the business was passed to S.W. Jackson's son, Mr. Cameron Jackson; the practice was then known as SW & C Jackson. In 2007, the practice was bought by Helen Corson, the current owner, who has worked to modernize the services while maintaining a focus on personal, independent care and unique eyewear.
