We were absolutely delighted to welcome our little friends from Treforys Tiny Tots Day Nursery to celebrate Pancake Day with us last week! 🥞🎈

The room was filled with energy and chatter along with some very impressive balloon skills and pancake decorating from both the very young and the young at heart!

Visits like these are always so special and we are fortunate they are regular because Intergenerational activities bring wonderful benefits to everyone involved.

People enjoy the spontaneity and fresh perspectives that children bring, while the little ones gain valuable opportunities to build confidence, develop social skills and learn from older generations. These shared experiences help to reduce feelings of loneliness, strengthen community bonds and create meaningful connections across the ages.

A big thank you to the nursery staff and children for spending such a lovely hour with us. We can’t wait to welcome you back again soon! 💛

We are absolutely delighted to share that following our recent inspection by Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), Drymmau Hall has been awarded ‘Excellent’ in all four categories:

This is a tremendous achievement, and we are incredibly grateful that the dedication, compassion and hard work of our entire team has been recognised.

However, while we are proud of this result, our work has never been about accolades or our own self-worth. Everything we do is for the greater good of the people who live here. Their comfort, dignity, happiness and quality of life will always be our true measure of success.

At Drymmau Hall, we are constantly striving to improve. Even with this wonderful outcome, we continue to look for ways to do better, to grow, and to enhance the lives and celebrate the people living here every single day.

A huge thank you to everyone at the Croeso Shed for providing us with our twiddle mats, meaningful occupation is so important and these will help serve the people living with us that are often hardest to reach. Living with a cognitive impairment is no doubt difficult but it doesn’t mean life can’t be fulfilling, thank you Dorothy and Steve for thinking of us and delivering these valuable items, it was lovely to catch up after 11 years!

One heart drummers visited us last week for a therapeutic group session helping us to connect our mind, body and soul through the power of music and rhythm, a powerful afternoon leaving people feeling joy and happiness. Thank you!

We were fortunate enough to have our little friends from Treforys Tiny Tots Day Nursery join us this afternoon for an actioned packed few hours! Dayroom sing alongs, seed planting and dog agility from our special guest Rachel and Marley from Rachel’s Doggy Days, all in all a great afternoon!

A truly wonderful Christmas party hosted in collaboration with our residents and staff welcoming family and friends, and great grandchildren to Santa’s grotto!

With the nights drawing in and the temperatures falling our focus for group activity has turned to our Halloween party! To be held on the 30th October between 2pm and 4:30pm for friends and family!

The preparations have began as the excitement builds for the afternoon of spook and ghoul ahead!

The ladies this week continued their fashion design project while taking inspiration from a screening of the catwalks at London fashion week in the coffee shop, some home baking of desserts was greatly enjoyed in the dayroom along with some walks around the grounds while soaking up the autumn sun amongst the wildlife ☀️😀
