YEAR OF THE HORSE 🐎 👇
Returning to work after maternity leave last week — as we step into the Year of the Horse — felt emotional in a way I didn’t expect. It brought back a lot of cherished memories which shaped my life which started with horses.
This timing wasn’t planned, but it felt aligned. Beginning a fresh chapter with direction, purpose and subtle positive changes.
I spent the first 25 years of my life in the saddle competing at a high level. Its where many friendships were formed and it shaped my life in many ways. The unspoken conversation & connection between you and 600kg of power. Horses were never just sport — they were home (yep the pics are me 🙋♀️).
Horses feel everything, your nerves, your doubt, your confidence.
If your energy isn’t aligned, neither is your performance.
Competing at a high level keeps you grounded, focused & disciplined.
But it also humbles you.
You can train perfectly and still have an off day.
You can prepare for everything and still fall.
They taught me patience.
That control is different from force.
That confidence is quiet.
That sometimes where you think you’re going isn’t where you end up — and that’s okay.
They taught me to feel the rhythm.
To be gentle, but intentional
To pick my battles.
To try again.
And the greatest lesson — no matter the level, no matter the fall —
You ALWAYS get back on.
Every time. 🐎
So this is your time, to move with intention and confidence, to connect with your emotions & body, to be patient but persistent. To move freely, to never underestimate your abilities & strength, to keep moving, flowing and connecting. To leave anything that holds you back behind you and get back in the saddle (maybe not literally) but to try again with purpose, intention and confidence in your bodies abilities. They are more resiliant than you think 💪
