As we approach the end of the Living Wage UK week (10-16 November), it’s been great to hear the real lived views of our colleagues and the impact being paid above the real Living Wage has had for them.

Without our incredible purple army, we wouldn’t be the quality service we are today! We appreciate them all so much and couldn’t do what we do without them.

It’s Living Wage week (10-16 November) 🥳🙌🏼
We are so incredibly proud at Haven to be part of the real cost of living movement. To ensure everyone earns a fair days pay, for a hard days work!

It’s important to celebrate the difference the real Living Wage UK and Living Hours movements make to our colleagues. Although we recognise, as a nation, social care workers are not paid enough for the hard work, deeply human connections and differences they make to the quality of people’s lives. Social care services being accredited Living Wage employers is a step in the right direction.

We wouldn’t be here without our incredible team in purple, and it’s important we support our colleagues as much as we can!

What a night! We had the most wonderful evening celebrating with the best of social care. It was incredible to see recognition for all the exceptional people and care the sector has to offer! We are thrilled to have WON two awards on the night and have been shortlisted for the National finals in Birmingham, February 2026!

A massive CONGRATULATIONS to the best people and team you could ask for! You make Haven the outstanding and quality care service we are and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our care workers, two brothers have made the awe-inspiring effort to kayak the English Channel! In a profound movement to raise money for Me, Myself and I Neath Port Talbot - a local dementia charity and hub based right here on our doorstep. We’ve been privileged enough to work with the amazing people of Me, Myself and I, to improve our care workers understanding of supporting people with memory loss, as well as their impact of improving services on a local level.

Here’s what Lauren had to share about her brothers remarkable fundraiser, “Yesterday my brothers both kayaked across the English Channel in a bid to raise money for Me, Myself and I. A local dementia hub that supports people living with dementia and memory loss, along with their families. They completed the challenge in 4hrs 45mins! Please don’t feel obliged, but if anyone would like to donate I’ll attach the link here. Thank you”

Bringing Joy to Care: Good news stories to feel good about! We are so grateful to the Homecare Association for showcasing the incredible work out there in the social care sector each and every day; and for recognising our commitment to championing quality care for people. After all, providing outstanding care to people in their own homes is at the heart of what we and our superb carers do best.
Often the narrative in the media and society perception around social care, is that of negativity. There is so much good to out weight the bad in social care, people who genuinely care about others like they are their own loved ones. We’re so proud to see social care and the amazing carers up and down the country are being recognised for the profession we are!

Carers are just as important to health and social care as our colleagues in nursing 💜 Join a team that cares. A care provider that cares about you too! Leading from the forefront - Exceeding quality, and exceeding the Living Wage… oh we are also the first Living Hours Employer in Domiciliary Care in Wales too 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
