As mentioned Easte Renfrewshire councils pavement parking charges come into force in April. A few cars in the area have already had warning notices.
Access is essential for pedestrians to pavements, particularly with disabilities and prams etc. However the rules appear to be taking roads that were built many years ago, in areas which aren't suitable for modern day car use ,and blanket applying those rules to them, without consideration and compromise to help everyone.
As you know the roads around the bowling club are very narrow and it it necessary for many to use the pavements on one side of the road keeping the other side clear for residents to access their driveways, one side a free unobsrtucted pavement for wheelchairs and prams as well as allowing access for ambulances, the bin lorry (Mondays!) and other work/delivery vehicles as well as residents being able to drive down the roads.
Check your own streets and contact the council with any concerns about accessing your own homes and local business, like mine and others, where no other parking options are available due to already restricted parking.I live in this area and am personally concerned about not gaining access to my own driveway as well as the impact upon my business.💜
