Imbolc marks the midpoint of winter, halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox 🕯
It’s the quietest moment on the Wheel of the Year. Winter isn’t over yet, but the light is coming back (slowly).
Energy can feel low, days are cold af, but something new is beginning to stir beneath the surface🌱
The word Imbolc likely comes from Old Irish, meaning ‘in the belly’ - a reference to pregnancy of ewes and of the earth as the first snowdrops begin to appear.
Brigid, the Celtic goddess of fire, healing, poetry, craft and midwifery looks after us. A guardian of the hearth - reminding us to steadily keep life going through the winter months and gently prepare for what's to come 🔥
We’re marking Imbolc with a cosy, grounding evening of movement, reflection and warmth at Pendle Wellbeing Hub in a weeks time 💜
