Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year and all the very best for 2026!!

Thank you so much for all of your support for My Book Bug in 2025, I won't lie, it's been a tricky year for me personally, but I'm so lucky that continuing to run my little bookshop and see children's faces light up when they choose their books has, as always, brought me a huge amount of happiness. I couldn't do it without all of my lovely customers, parents, teachers, PTAs and charities who I work with, as well as all of my amazing team-mates and Usborne colleagues, so thank you from the bottom of my heart!! 😊❤️

I'll be very glad to turn the page onto 2026, here's to a healthy, happy and peaceful year, hope it brings you all that you wish for 🥂✨🥰📚

My Story

Hi, I’m Michelle and I’ve been an Usborne organiser since May 2014. These two little book-bugs are the reason I joined, as well as loving books myself!

I decided to go back to work part-time after my second maternity leave, and was looking for something else to do from home, to keep me busy and bring in some money, but allow me to spend more time with my girls. I’d already bought many Usborne books for the girls and for presents, so when I stumbled on an Usborne stall at a teddy bears picnic, I couldn’t believe my luck - I just didn’t realise there was a such a thing as a book business you could run from home! I signed up the next day, and haven’t looked back!

I gave up my day job two years later, and now I’m a full-time ‘Usborne lady’ and Team Leader. I love the changes it’s brought to my life; freedom not just to be my own boss and work when I like, but also to be creative, try new things and learn so many new skills. With the support of my own lovely mentor, the Usborne Books at Home team, and a whole band of Usborne organisers throughout the UK and Europe, it feels very much like a big family and I’m very grateful that I’ve found somewhere that I feel like I belong :) My girls are turning out to be avid readers, and so the Usborne magic really has worked for us in so many ways.

As the owner of a small business I so appreciate when you make orders with me - us small business owners really DO a happy dance when people use our services and expertise! :D
