I wanted to share something a little different this weekend.
Some of my customers live with conditions or disabilities that mean they need extra support when getting out and about. I’ve had quite a few people reach out recently to ask where the nearest places are with proper accessible facilities, and whether it’s manageable for them to visit depending on distance and what’s available.
This week, I spent some lovely time away with my two babies and my husband at Barmston Beach. While we were there, we decided to pop into the local Wetherspoons in Bridlington—because why not?!
Honestly, it completely exceeded expectations. The interior design and architecture were beautiful, with thoughtful touches like stained glass and a library-style wall. But what really stood out was the level of care put into the accessible facilities—from a large changing table and hoist to a spacious room that allows for easy movement with a chair.
It’s not in our local area, but I felt it deserved a special mention. It’s reassuring to know that inside what might seem like an ordinary building, there’s everything someone might need to feel comfortable, supported, and seen… along with a glass of wine or two.
