Nurture. Nourish. Be A page for mums experiencing PND, PNA, postnatal stress or depletion who are interested in beginning their journey to wellness. It's about NOURISHing your body.

Nurture Nourish Be is a page for mums experiencing PND, PNA, postnatal stress or depletion who are interested in beginning their journey to wellness. This page is for you if you have tried the traditional treatment options for PND and PNA and have found that you are still not feeling quite how you would like to. There is alot missing from postnatal mental health care in the UK and beyond. This page aims to educate, support and empower Mums to mental wellness beyond the traditional routes of medication and talk therapies. Created by me, Louise Berkhauer, I experienced my own mental health decline after the birth of her son in 2016. I suffered with PND and PNA alongside chronic pelvic pain so am able to understand how Mums in the thick of postnatal illness feel and the tools they may need to help them move from “is this it?” to feeling well again. If you are seeking a little mental calm, a little soul guidance and maybe some inspiration to feel well again, you are in the right place! As a society, we are all so connected to life, 24/7, 365 and Mums are particularly great at forgetting ourselves and how important we are. We exist at the very bottom of the list and live life on empty. Let Nurture Nourish Be support and guide you to feel mentally well again. Its about living a life where you NURTURE your mind, body, and soul, helping you recognise that your needs are valid and important. Feeding your cells with good food that makes you feel physically and mentally well. It's about learning to BE. Achieving the mantra of living in the moment. Letting go and being fully present in whatever you are doing at the time. Just taking a moment to breathe, relax, be still, quiet the mind. That part will always be a lifelong work in progress for most of us but we can simply start if we want to :)

NNB encourages Mums to dive into themself, take a moment, and be well. Lou

Today I really noticed something that I do differently now than at the beginning of my live slow journey which forms part of staying well mentally and physically for me....

I noticed that I am being more caring to myself in the most gentle and subtle of ways.

What do I mean by this...

Well, for example, in the same way that I help my son feel comfortable in his clothes when he gets dressed, I am applying the same time with myself.

On the daily this might look like me rushing less getting dressed in the morning. I put each item on and then take a moment to rearrange so I am comfortable, no tickly label annoyance or bits digging in or twisted sleeves.

It looks like applying my toiletries more slowly and with care for my skin.

I used to watch my Nan get dressed like this and recently watched a friend do it too on a night away.

Its so gentle, soft almost graceful. This way has never my default way. I have always rushed from thing to thing with little thought for my mind or body in this constant rushing behaviour.

This act of self care is so simple yet feels really nourishing for me ❤️

Choosing to conciously live slow in small ways daily has been integral to regulating my nervous system which plays a prominent part in my wellness journey.

Here's an invitation to you for the weekend...

Take time with yourself.
Mother yourself as often as possible.
Treat yourself with the same love, care and attention that you would your newborn baby.

It's THE most nourishing act ❤️❤️
