Tonight in Newark, Garden of Light will brighten the Market Place with a stunning celebration of renewal, marking the changing seasons through light, colour and community participation.
The event is free and is on tonight 6pm-9pm!

Tina, Reach Newark Deputy Manager, said: “At Reach, we’re passionate about making sure adults with learning disabilities have the opportunity to take part in community life. Being involved in the Garden of Light workshops means the people we support aren’t just attending an event — they’re actively shaping it.
Having their lanterns carried through Newark and forming part of the opening moment is incredibly powerful. It builds confidence, pride and a real sense of belonging.”

We’re so proud of everyone who joined in our lantern making and is taking part. If you’re in Newark, come along and join this uplifting celebration. ✨🌈💛

From today until March 15th, it's Open Week! Which means you can enjoy free entry and special offers on great days out.

Here at Reach, thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund, we are opening up more opportunities for adults with learning disabilities to share their talents and play an active role in their communities. This support is helping us strengthen volunteering across Reach and amplify the voices of people with learning disabilities on the issues that matter to them. It is a significant step towards building healthier, more connected communities where everyone is valued and has the right to aspire.

National Lottery Open Week 2025 is now over and will be back in 2026! Dates will be announced in the coming months.

Today is , and it gives us the perfect moment to recognise the rich variety of wildlife that thrives around our Flower Pod centres. From frogs and insects to pollinators and the hedgehogs who regularly visit our gardens, our teams and clients work hard to make these spaces welcoming for everyone.

Recently, our Thursday woodwork group at Southwell created a hedgehog ladder to help any hedgehogs who accidentally wander into our ponds find a safe way out. It is a great example of how meaningful, hands-on activities can support adults with learning disabilities to build skills while also helping local wildlife flourish.

Did you know you can recycle your old mobile phones and empty ink cartridges through Honest-Inks Cash 4 Cause? You can drop them off at the Southwell Co‑op or at either of our Newark centres.

Every item recycled helps protect the environment and raises funds for Reach at the same time. It is an easy way to support a circular economy while supporting adults with learning disabilities in our community.

Thank you to everyone who donates. Small actions can make a real difference.

We created “seed snails” by rolling compost and seeds into bubble wrap. This space‑saving method helps us grow more seedlings in less space and keeps moisture where it is needed.
It is a practical, confidence‑building session that strengthens fine motor skills, planning and teamwork. We are excited to watch these snails unfurl into healthy seedlings, to be planted around our Flower Pod!

If you would like to support accessible gardening for adults with learning disabilities in Nottinghamshire, please consider volunteering or donating. Your support helps people build skills, friendships and independence.

We’re excited to share that our Mansfield Technology Tuesday group has created a fantastic how to video guide to support fellow adults with learning disabilities working in PowerPoint. They’ve been learning practical digital skills that help build confidence and independence, and they’re proud to show what they can do.

Take a look at their guide and let us know your favourite PowerPoint features and any top tips you use. We’d love to hear them!

Did you know you can support us through Payroll Giving? It’s one of the simplest and most effective ways to help adults with learning disabilities lead safer, healthier and more connected lives.

Your donation comes straight from your salary before tax. This means it costs you less, while Reach receives the full amount. For example, a £10 gift might cost you only £8, or even £6 if you're a higher relief tax-payer.

Regular gifts help us plan ahead so we can offer over sixty five weekly courses, community projects and day opportunities across Nottinghamshire. Small monthly amounts truly add up to lasting change.

If you’d like to make a difference in this easy and tax efficient way, ask your employer about payroll giving today! Every regular gift helps people build skills, confidence and friendship.

Reach Southwell have been busy whisking, pouring and flipping their way through Pancakes and most importantly, enjoying every bite.

A simple activity that brought out so much: confidence in the kitchen, teamwork, independence and plenty of smiles.

Whether you’re a lemon and sugar fan or prefer a mountain of toppings, we hope you enjoyed yours!

We were delighted to join the Integrated Care System (ICS) All-Age Autism Strategy Review Sub-Group. Isobel (Voice and Participation member), Kay and Tracey (Reach Projects Team) attended the first meeting where we introduced ourselves, shared experiences and shaped how future meetings will look.

There will be monthly meetings throughout 2026, which we plan to attend. Of course, we also encourage other autistic people and carers to be involved. If you would like to join us, please email tracey.thurlow1@reachuk.org.
