COVID-19 Update

As the Scottish Government slowly ease restrictions we will now be able to increase capacity to see patients face-to-face. We have strict guidelines which mean we must limit the number of patients in the practice and prioritise appointments for emergency and essential eye problems. As we gradually increase capacity for routine eyecare over the coming weeks, we have increased our appointment times and have extra cleaning measures so because of this we have a reduced capacity. All patients will be triaged and appointments should be made in advance by telephone. We may ask more questions on the phone to limit the time you need to be in the practice.

We continue to operate a locked door policy at present to ensure we have limited patients in the practice. For now, appointments are needed for spectacle collection, adjustments and repairs. We ask that when you do attend your appointment you attend alone where possible, wear a face covering, use the hand sanitiser stations and ensure you do not attend the practice if you feel unwell or have any COVID-19 symptoms. (Fever/High Temperature, New/Persistent Cough, Change in sense of Taste or Smell) or if you have been in contact with anyone with symptoms in the last 14 days. It is also important to follow guidelines on self isolating if returning from abroad.

We are looking forward to returning to what will be a new normal and hope you can bear with us as we do our best to provide you the personal service you are used to while keeping our patients and staff safe.

‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️COVID 19 UPDATE‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

From today, new government restrictions in place mean that we are unable to see any routine eyecare. This means that only emergency and essential eyecare is available. We hope you can bear with us at this difficult time and in unprecedented circumstances.

If you have spectacles on order we will be contacting you to make arrangements as we receive completed jobs back from the lab.

Contact lens supplies will be posted direct for as long as possible if supply chains are uninterrupted.

Given the current COVID19 situation and to keep both our patients and staff safe we have been advised to minimise visits to the practice.

If you do have an emergency eye problem or an essential spectacle or contact lens issue please call us for advice and we will do our best to help.

As we gradually ease out of lockdown, we will be back to providing routine eye care as soon as restrictions allow.

Thank you

We urge all our patients to follow government advice on isolation and social distancing measures to minimise the spread of this virus.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

We are open as normal.

We have adapted the way we work and are working to government recommendations to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spread.

We kindly ask that patients DO NOT attend the practice if they or someone they are in contact with is currently experiencing any coronavirus symptoms or have been told to self-isolate.
Please check https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid-19 for more information.

These symptoms are most commonly high fever and/or having a dry cough. We would advise that if you are feeling unwell in any way you do not attend the practice.
We ask that patients in this circumstance call to rearrange their appointment for when they have fully recovered.

As always within our clinical environment, hygiene is key. We have also increased the frequency of cleaning door handles, surfaces and increased the disinfection of our frames.

We remain open to help those with sore eyes, red eyes or other visual problems. By seeing minor eye problems in practice this helps to take the pressure off hospital eye services, pharmacies and GP practices.

The safety and wellbeing of both our patients and staff is key so we would ask that you strictly follow this guidance to help us keep everyone in the community safe during this difficult time.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please call us on 01698 861333

Thank you

Coronavirus (COVID-19) can cause a fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you have a new continuous cough or fever you should stay at home for 7 days
