What's the difference between our Premier Calm and Calming Powder?
We’ve made a conscious shift to reduce soya in many of our products, as soya is increasingly used in hard feeds in the form of soya bean meal, soya hulls, and GM soya meal. Studies have shown that not all horses tolerate soya protein well.
With this in mind, we’ve developed many of our formulations using chia seeds, which provide numerous health benefits, especially for mares.
Both Premier Calm and Calming Powder are powerful, everyday supplements designed to help your horse stay calm, focused, and confident - without affecting performance. These innovative formulas are gentle enough to take the edge off without sedating, so your horse maintains their natural sparkle but hopefully with more focus on you and less on their triggers of stress/anxiety.
Both supplements are a unique combination of herbs and amino acids, L-Tyrosine and L-Arginine, and importantly, neither contains valerian, magnesium, nor tryptophan. They are ideal for horses in stressful situations, helping manage anxiety, stress, and fear.
We’ve found that Premier Calm works particularly well for mares. Omitting soya, which is high in phytoestrogens, Premier Calm uses chia, making it a great option for mares needing a powerful, calming effect. This is also why we use it in our Sassy Mare Plus formula.
