WHAT’S COMING UP NEXT WEEK👇
Your FIRST class is FREE. Book via the links OR for in-person classes, simply turn up and pay on the door (if not your first class). FREE cuppa & biscuit afterward. Just bring a bottle of water and a smile!
We are always looking for ways to make our classes as accessible and inclusive as possible. We absolutely love it when our participants share the clever ways they’ve adapted the sessions to suit their own needs – just like Jenny did with her transcription app (see Tuesday’s post – link in the comments). 📱✨
A huge thank you to Jenny for bravely sharing her story. Knowing how she uses technology to help her follow the class helps us recommend similar tools to others who might be facing similar challenges. 🤝
Now, we’d love to hear from you... Have you come up with your own ways to make our classes work better for you? Whether it’s a specific bit of tech, a way you set up your chair at home, or a little adjustment to a movement – no tip is too big or too small!
You never know how much your experience could benefit someone else. Share your thoughts in the comments below! 👇

For a number of our regulars, a challenging part of staying active is simply finding a routine that fits around a busy life. For Jenny, our online classes became that perfect fit. 💻
Jenny joined us during the pandemic and has remained a mainstay of our online community ever since. Supporting her husband in his role as Thatcham’s Deputy Mayor means her schedule is often packed, so she values the convenience of logging in from home. As she puts it, "Heavy rain won’t get you out of an online exercise class!" 🌧️🏠
Beyond the convenience, the classes have provided an impactful way for Jenny to manage her health. She finds the gentle movement essential for her joints, noting that her knees really feel the difference if she ever has to miss a week. 💪
Because Jenny has lived with hearing loss since childhood, the online format offers a unique advantage. She uses a transcription app on her phone alongside her laptop, allowing her to follow Debbie’s instructions perfectly in real-time – a setup that would be much harder to manage in an in-person class. 📱✨
While the movement is important, Jenny also really values the social element. Whether it’s logging in early, staying afterwards for a chat or meeting people from all over the country, she finds the classes a guaranteed opportunity to connect. 😊
Thank you, Jenny, for sharing your experience with us.

Pancake Day is always a bit of fun, and beyond its origins and deeper meaning, it’s also a good reminder of the benefits of balance and coordination – two things we work on as part of our carefully thought-out routines. 🪑💪
In both our in-person and online classes, we love seeing people "toss" aside any limitations they may be feeling and build their strength (and for some, confidence too), one move at a time. 💙
Enjoy your pancakes today! What are you having with yours this year? 🍋✨💬

Like many of our regulars, for Hannah, our classes mean so much more than exercise. They are a chance to laugh and have fun, as well as helping her rehabilitate from her stroke.🪑
For others, the sessions have been where they have formed lasting friendships or regained their strength after an operation. 💙
However, we’re just scratching the surface here. How have classes like ours benefitted you? 💬

Did you know we run a fortnightly class for people with Parkinson's at The Bowler's Arms in partnership with the Newbury and District branch of Parkinson's UK

We encourage people to use small weights (or tin cans) during our classes—of course, only if they want to. So, what are the benefits of using weights?
There are five key benefits:
✅ Improved bone health by stimulating bone density.
✅ Enhanced muscle strength and endurance by increasing resistance in a precise and gradual way.
✅ Better balance and stability by engaging the all-important stabiliser muscles.
✅ Boosted mood and energy levels through the release of feel-good hormones.
✅ Increased independence, as building or maintaining strength helps you regain or retain the ability to perform day-to-day activities.
