We are pleased to announce our Counselling/Psychotherapy Supervision Course commencing in October 2023. It's been a labour of love for Karen, our clinical coordinator, and we're very excited to invite you to join us.

Here's a note from Karen about the course:
“I do believe supervision to be a natural progression for any counsellor/psychotherapist to move onto in their career, whilst cost of living crisis leaves private therapists wondering if they will receive enough referrals to continue working solely privately. There has always been the internal conflict too of running a business and being business minded whilst being understanding and considerate towards others using our counselling skills. Everyone who qualifies each year, as a counsellor or psychotherapist, if registered with a governing body, are still required to have their supervision. Clearly a vital way to keep ourselves and our clients safe in many ways.

Honestly, this has always given me the security I have needed to continue working privately if referrals for clients has ever been slow. I have had numerous requests to develop this course, and finally got around to it. I have to say, I have never met anyone yet, who feels really confident and ready to offer supervision as part of their practice, so I would just like to normalize anyone who may feeling, ‘ I wish I could but I don’t think I am good enough to help others, the course does aim to ease these normal thoughts too.”

The course is underpinned by the BACP Supervision Competency Framework and was developed following the BACP Supervision Training Curriculum.

The course is fully accredited by the CPD standards office offering 42 CPD points.

Attendance is 2 days per month, Friday and Saturday for 3 months commencing October 2023. There are no assignments to complete or exam to pass, course criteria to pass is done mainly during each training day. March 2024 will also see a new start date for the next course.

The venue is ‘Yarnfield Business Park’ and lunch is provided, with a hotel on site for anyone who wishes to stay over.

If anyone is interested or would like any further information, please feel free to contact Jaye, our clinical co-ordinator on referrals@thetherapyquarters.com

A bit of an introduction post today, along with a throwback blog link!

My name is Jaye, and I'm the clinical coordinator at The Therapy Quarters. If you contact us, it'll likely be me that returns your email or answers your call, so I thought I should show my face ☺️

I'm also the person behind our social media and website updates, so when a TTQ post pops up in your newsfeed, it'll be me that's written it. If we're appearing in your feed, I imagine it would be nice for you to see who it is that's written the post.

I contribute to our blog page on our website sometimes too, so I'm including a throwback link to my first contribution here: www.thetherapyquarters.com/therapy-quarters-blog-posts/1001/, which you may find interesting.

I look forward to speaking with you soon.

Our latest "An interview with..." blog post is live on our website.

This month we are introducing you to our Children and Young People's therapists, Deb and Rachel.

The work they do is so incredibly important given the strain services are under to support children and young people with mental health difficulties so we hope you join us in welcoming them to our team ☺️

We have recently begun a series of "an interview with..." blog posts over on our website - the link is in our bio.
As clients, we often have questions for our therapists that may go unasked, or unanswered, because our sessions are rightfully focused on us.
In this series, we will be introducing you to one of our team each month; the first of our interviews was with Karen, our clinical director. She offers us some insight into why she chose counselling as a profession, how she manages her emotions, and what song she couldn't live without, amongst other interesting anecdotes.
You'll also find Steve over there; he happily let us know a bit more about himself as he answered our 10 questions.
A new interview will be posted on the 10th of each month so check back to see who else has been willing to get involved. We'll pop reminders up here when they go live so you can stay up to date with the TTQ Therapists.
You never know you might even see me there one day!
Jaye☺️

Here at the Therapy Quarters, we have created a space for mental health professionals to share a cuppa and our experiences together.
We meet on Zoom on the first Thursday of each month at 19:30 to discuss important topics, listen to guest speakers and share our knowledge with each other.
Our group is friendly and open to all, whether you are newly qualified or an experienced practitioner.
Karen's aim, when she founded The Coffee Quarters, was to lessen the isolation many mental health professionals experienced through the pandemic; it's been such a valuable space that we've decided to continue.
If you are available this evening, or the first Thursday of any month, please head over to www.thetherapyquarters.com/make-an-enquiry/ to register your interest.
We look forward to seeing you there 😊
