🧠 Eating Disorders Awareness Week

This week (23 Feb - 1 March) we recognise Eating Disorders Awareness Week, a time to highlight the impact of eating disorders and raise awareness of support and recovery.

Eating disorders can affect anyone and often involve complex physical and emotional challenges. If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available. Speaking to a GP can be a first step in getting the right help.

Depression is often misunderstood, but it’s more than a passing low mood. Mild depression can mean you’re unable to enjoy your normal activities, while severe depression can make you feel suicidal or as if life isn’t worth living. If you’re struggling with feelings of depression, please ask for an appointment.

📅 National Obesity Awareness Week | 10–17 January

This week highlights the importance of supporting people to achieve and maintain a healthy weight — without judgement or stigma.

Obesity is a complex health issue influenced by many factors, including lifestyle, mental wellbeing, environment, and long-term conditions. Small, sustainable changes can make a real difference to overall health and reduce the risk of conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, joint problems and some cancers.

If you’re concerned about your weight or would like support with healthy eating, physical activity or weight management, help is available. Visit noaw2014.org.uk for information and resources.

Support is about health, not blame.
