PeterPan Centre for Children with Special Needs We give children with special educational needs and disabilities the best start in life

At the Peter Pan Centre we are dedicated to life-changing care and education for children with special educational needs and disabilities and the support their families deserve. At our centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme we support children aged 0-5 through weekly specialist Education, Care and Development sessions that follow the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, delivered by our team of dedicated and caring expert Specialist Practitioners. At Peter Pan we are here for the whole family through our Family Support Service with advice for the home, weekend social activities, training courses on topics such as sleep or first aid, help with form-filling, support with transitions and specialist stay and play sessions at five locations across Stoke and North Staffs. We were awarded Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted for the fourth consecutive time in August 2022. We recently won the local β€˜Your Heroes – Inspiration in Education’ Award for the difference we make to children and families across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent and Cheshire East.

For our November Family Meetup, we spent the day with our friends at WildAndfree Adventure Playground . The children always love visitingβ€”it's such a wonderful space for them to explore freely, play safely, and fill up their sensory buckets!

Thank You so much for having us πŸ’œ

UPDATE: We now have companies coming on-site tomorrow so thank you for all your recommendations, hopefully we will have everything sorted by close of play tomorrow. We really appreciate all your support today πŸ™‚

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Staff at the Peter Pan Centre came into work this morning to find several fence panels blown down by the storms over the weekend. As the play area is unsafe we cannot take the children outside until the fallen panels have been removed and the existing gate and side panels are replaced as they are no longer stable 😒

Do you know of any fencing company that could help us replace the red panels as quickly as possible? And anyone who can help us move and dispose of the fallen fencing? If so please give us a call on 01782 715219 or message us here on FB. Thank you so much in anticipation πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

This coming weekend is Run Alton Towers and we have some wonderful runners taking part to raise funds for the Peter Pan Centre. They include Mark from amb insurance services ltd who is running the 10K and has smashed his fundraising target. Fran from University of Staffordshire has supported the charity for many years along with her students, she is running the half marathon and is looking for her final donations so she can meet her target. If you would like to support her efforts you can donate at https://www.justgiving.com/page/francesca-cornwall-6 . Thank you everyone!

Did you know it's Trustees' Week 2025? This is a time for charities to come together to celebrate the achievements of nearly one million trustees across the UK. We can't thank our Trustees enough for the time, commitment and effort you bring to the Peter Pan Centre to help us thrive.

One of our incredible trustees is Katrina, mum to Meliah, who kindly sat down with Claire to discuss her experiences sitting on the Board as a parent carer representative. Read her Q&A session here:

🌟 A Huge Thank You to The Sensory Storyteller CIC πŸ’œπŸŒŸ

We just wanted to take a moment to share our appreciation for The Sensory Storyteller, who has joined us at so many of our events β€” from Stay and Play and Family Fun Sessions to our Christmas Party and Graduation celebrations! πŸŽ‰

She is absolutely wonderful with the children β€” so adaptable, creative, and caring, always making sure every story session is tailored to the needs of the children attending. πŸ’›

Her energy, warmth, and sensory magic make such a difference to our sessions, and we’re so grateful to have her as part of our community. ✨

Thank you for bringing joy, imagination, and inclusivity to everything you do! πŸ™Œ

Bonfire Night can be magical, but it can also be overwhelming for some children.

The loud bangs, bright lights and changes to routine can be a lot to process, and feel scary πŸ’₯

We’ve put together some simple, practical tips to help your family prepare and enjoy the evening in a way that feels safe and comfortable for your child. Whether that means watching fireworks from the window, using ear defenders, or planning a quiet movie night instead, remember, there’s no β€œright” way to celebrate

However your family spends it, we hope it’s calm, cosy and full of sparkle in your own way βœ¨πŸŽ‡

We had a fantastic time at the Archer Wolstanton on Wednesday night for their charity quiz. Thank you so much Gemma and Lee for putting on such a fun night and for all the generous patrons of the pub for raising an amazing Β£427.31 for the PeterPan Centre for Children with Special Needs. What a wonderful community we have here in Wolstanton!
