Exciting times last Friday as I popped down to the Theatre Royal to support the UK touring company of Miss Saigon 🎼
I will be working with them over the next few weeks as they open in Newcastle 🎭

Spent the day working to the sound of the live orchestra rehearsals next door and from somewhere in the depths of your brain you realise you can still sing every word! (Better for all those involved that it’s in my head though nobody needs that during treatment😂😂😂)

The Mini & Junior's rugby season kicks off this Sunday, 7th September at Ponteland RFC! 🌟

Join us for an action-packed morning:
- U6, 7, 8, 9 & 11 sessions start at 9 AM
- U10, 12, 13, 14 & 15 sessions start at 9:30 AM
- U12 girls are playing at Novos - KO at 2PM

And that's not all!!

One for all you distance runners out there… why not try introducing a bit of jump rope into your week 🧐

I’ve posted before about the benefits of using skipping as a bridge between injury recovery and a return to running.

This study shows a benefit from skipping as a warm up alternative to improve performance.

“Compared with a control warm-up routine prior to endurance-running training, 10 weeks (2-4 times/wk) of jump rope training, in place of 5 minutes of regular warm-up activities, was effective in improving 3-km time-trial performance, jumping ability, RSI, and arch stiffness in amateur endurance runners. Improvements in RSI and arch stiffness were associated with improvements in 3-km time-trial performance.”

What a great initiative to keep our girls involved in sport. Check out the Big Sister project at Ponteland Leisure Centre 💜

6 in 10 girls who take part say they feel happier, healthier and more resilient💡

Big Sister gives girls aged 9-15 free or discounted gym memberships at all Places Leisure centres in England.

With their membership, girls can also access female-only We Move sessions where they can get active in a judgement-free environment with other girls.

After a successful pilot project in Derbyshire, Norfolk and South Yorkshire, it’s brilliant to see Big Sister rolled out nation-wide so that every girl can experience the joy, fulfilment and lifelong benefits of sport.
