In memory, in hope, in strength. World Cancer Day.

28/01/2026

Focus: Sustaining mindfulness beyond January
Core idea: Commitment is made through repetition, not intensity.

Topics & practices:
• Choosing one small daily mindfulness anchor (breath, walk, cup of tea)
• Designing a “minimum viable practice” for busy days
• Practice: 1-minute reset you can return to all year
• Releasing all-or-nothing thinking

Builds on: Intentions are stabilised through habit.

Slow down, and give yourself the time to understand what you value the most.

22/01/2026

Focus: Translating values into lived intentions
Core idea: Intentions are ways of being, not boxes to tick.

Topics & practices:
• Difference between intentions and resolutions
• Writing intentions as qualities (e.g. “with steadiness,” “with care”)
• Practice: One-word or short-phrase intention for the year
• Revisiting intention through breath (inhale value, exhale tension)

Builds on: Values become embodied direction.

Following our previous post, here is a simple body-based decision check (tight vs. open).

It means noticing how your body reacts when you think about a choice.

You’re deciding whether to say yes to an extra commitment.

Pause for a moment and imagine saying yes.
• Does your body feel tight?
(Heavy chest, tense shoulders, shallow breathing, knot in your stomach)

Now imagine saying no.
• Does your body feel more open?
(Easier breathing, relaxed shoulders, sense of relief or space)

If your body feels tight, it’s often a sign of pressure, obligation, or a “should.”
If your body feels open, it usually means the choice aligns better with your needs or energy.

This isn’t about fear or avoiding growth—it’s about listening.
Your body often notices what your mind talks over.

A quick check-in like this can help you make kinder, more aligned decisions throughout your day. 🌿

Build on last week's practice

15/01/2026

Focus: Choosing direction rather than goals
Core idea: Values guide behaviour more sustainably than resolutions.

Topics & practices:
• Identifying 3–5 core values for the year
• Linking everyday actions to values (not outcomes)
• Practice: “If I lived this value today, what would that look like?”
• Letting go of goals that don’t align with values

Builds on: Listening becomes discernment.

Week 2: Listening

Focus: Hearing what matters beneath the noise
Core idea: Intentions should arise from listening, not pressure.

Topics & practices:
• Mindful listening to inner signals (fatigue, excitement, resistance)
• Distinguishing between “shoulds” and genuine needs
• Practice: Journaling with the prompt “This year, I need more / less…”
• A simple body-based decision check (tight vs open) (in our next post)

Builds on: Awareness from Week 1 turns inward.

We all leave a mark on the world. The choice is yours—what kind will it be? One shaped by love, kindness, and compassion… or one weighed down by negativity.

Week 1: Arriving

Focus: Transitioning into the year with awareness

Core idea: Before setting intentions, first arrive.

Topics & practices:
• A short “arrival pause” practice (3 minutes of breath + body check-in)
• Reflecting on how your body and mind actually feel at the start of the year
• Letting go of the urge to immediately improve or fix anything just notice
• Practice: Name three sensations you notice right now. You may wish to journal if you find the need to do so.

Why this comes first: Presence precedes intention.

Preparing for a Year of Mindful Living 🌿
A gentle pause before the year begins

Choose Your Space
Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won’t be interrupted.
This is your time.

Set a Specific Time
Schedule 5–10 minutes just for you.
Consistency matters more than length.

Arrive in the Moment
Close your eyes.
Take 3 slow, intentional breaths.
Let your body soften.

Open Your Journal
Write freely without editing or judging.
Let your thoughts land on the page.

Release What No Longer Serves You
What are you ready to let go of this year?
Name it gently.

Set Intentions, Not Pressure
Focus on how you want to feel, not just what you want to achieve.

Begin with Presence
There’s nothing to perfect.
Just show up with awareness and kindness.
