Junior Doctor’s Strike Action
Friday 14th November concluding on the morning of Wednesday 19th November

The industrial action will take the form of a full stoppage of work, including nights, on-call shifts and non-resident work. Therefore affecting the number of appointments we have to offer over the coming days

❓ Myth: “I always need a GP appointment to get prescription medicines.”

✅ Reality: Under Pharmacy First, for certain minor conditions, pharmacy teams can both assess and supply treatment — no GP appointment needed.

This is especially useful in winter, when GP practices may be busier than usual.

📌 FAQs
Q: What conditions are covered?
A: Sore throat, sinusitis, earache, shingles, impetigo, infected insect bites, and uncomplicated UTIs (women 16–64).
Q: Will my GP be informed?
A: Yes — the pharmacy will send a notification to your GP either the same day or next working day.
Q: Do I still see the GP if needed?
A: Yes — if the pharmacist assesses that your symptoms need more than what the pathway allows, they’ll refer you.
