Your breath speaks the language of your nervous system.
Tune in, and listen closely.
Breathe with the currents of your sensations
Then guide your breath into the depths of your belly.
Feel your ribs expand.
Feel your diaphragm open
Feel the spaciousness of your sensations
Slow your breath down
Let your body exhale....through pursed lips....all the way out to dissolve any residue tension.
Let the exhale be twice as long as the inhale
Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.
Know that the state of your breath reflects the state of your nervous system.
The beautiful thing is that our breath is the portal to change our state.
Its our most personal medicine and its right there waiting for us to connect and bring our nervous system into harmony.
When we know our breath, we know how to rewire our nervous system.
When we connect to our breath we know how to come home to a state of calmness.
When we become intimate with our breath, we know how to regulate.
Let us all remember that our breath and nervous system are not seperate.
Both are reflections of each other. Both are sacred.
When we are breathing fast and rapid and from the chest, our nervous system is in a state of fear.
When we are unconsciously holding our breath, our nervous system is in a state of freeze, collapse and protection. .
When our breath is in a state of slow deep expansion our nervous system is in a state of safety.
