Thank you to Cedarwood Trust for having us this week!💙

For anyone who doesn't know, Cedarwood is a fantastic community centre offering food support, training opportunities, early years facilities and a safe space for local residents.

We spent the morning raising awareness for diabetic eye screening, encouraging people to attend their appointments and look after their vision. We had some positive conversations and the centre has a lovely community feel. 👀💙

We have had a lovely day at The Comfrey Project alongside The Melissa Bus, celebrating International Men’s Day! 🩵 👀

The Comfrey Project is a place where refugees and asylum seekers can go to learn new skills, volunteer and to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. This group is ran by some amazing individuals and really has a community feel to it.

If you know anyone who may benefit from The Comfrey Project, please signpost them.

We’ve enjoyed raising awareness for Diabetic Eye Screening to new people today & of course celebrating all the men around us 🕺🏻

Amanda and Jasmine had a fantastic day at Hexham Auction Mart last week! They made some great connections, in the hopes to reduce barriers for our patients to access our programme and even managed to watch some of the farmers auctions!

We will be back at Hexham Mart in 2026 so keep an eye out for us, and as always if you have any questions or need more information please come and chat to us!

We’re teaming up with Northumberland County Council Engagement Van on Friday 3rd October 2025!

We’ll be at:
👁️ Ellington Village Hall Car Park – 10.00am to 11.00am
👁️ Lynemouth Pavilion Car Park – 11.45am to 12.45pm

We will have our diabetic eye screening van with us on the day, so if you are due, you can be screened on the day! No need to wait around for your appointment

Come along, have a chat, ask any questions you may have, and get your eyes checked 👀

What a fantastic day we had yesterday at The People’s Kitchen in Newcastle!

A big thank you to Jackie, Chris, Shayne the dog, and all the amazing volunteers and friends who welcomed us with open arms. 🐾❤️

It was a brilliant opportunity to promote diabetic eye screening, have some great conversations, and connect with truly inspiring people.

We’re so grateful to be part of such a supportive community - looking forward to more days like this!

📣 We’re at The People’s Kitchen tomorrow! 👁️

The North of Tyne and Gateshead Diabetic Eye Screening Programme will be at The People’s Kitchen on Tuesday 16th July, from 10:30am to 3:00pm.

✅ We’ll be promoting diabetic eye screening
✅ Offering on-the-day eye screening for anyone who is due an appointment

If you or someone you know has diabetes and is due their eye screening, come along and see us – no need to wait for an appointment letter.

📍 Everyone is welcome – please help us spread the word!
