Our frosty the snowman competition was judged yesterday, and the winner is Paula Mclean, our very own night shift team leader. Well done Paula! There were some excellent entries, and it was incredibly hard to choose between them all, but Paula's was chosen as we loved the use of the forget-me-not flowers, a symbol supporting Alzheimer's and dementia. Well done everyone on your entries. We will display them in the home as part of our Christmas decorations ๐Ÿ˜Š

Today we have been making and writing Christmas cards โœ๐Ÿผ We've posted them into our beautiful 'letters to Santa' postbox which our carer Caroline's husband has made for us.

It's National Cake Day today ๐Ÿฐ so it was definitely a day to be totally indulgent. We started the day off with a quiz, and quite a tricky one at that - Who knows the Beatles song which has the lyric "a cake of marzipan"? Not us, that's for sure!
We then moved on to a bit of baking and have made a beautiful victoria sponge filled with strawberry jam ๐Ÿ˜‹ that's going to be on the tea trolley tomorrow.
This afternoon we had a cake tasting afternoon tea with all different types of cakes and deliciousness.
What a tasty day!

Beautiful Daisy from Wag and Company came to visit again ๐Ÿ˜, Grace has been helping with Christmas decorations, we've been making our own decor too, and been out eating scrumptious cakes at Coffee on the Corner!! Lovely ๐Ÿ˜Š

Discovery zoo visited us yesterday and we enjoyed seeing, holding, and learning about the critters. Monty the Python, Flash the Tortoise, Rosie the Tarantula, Dexter the Gecko, and Twiggy the Leaf Mimic. Of course Paul too, who taught us all about the animals and supported us in learning about them, and wearing them too! ๐Ÿ

We spotted an idea that one of our sister care homes had done, so this afternoon we spent time thinking of as many words as we could for different letters of the alphabet.
This was such a funny activity which quickly became "which rude words can we think of" and "which long words can we make Bethan have to spell"!
We had the whole lounge laughing with both residents and staff joining in by the end. We'll definitely do this again, as aside from being great for the brain, for word recall and cognitive ability, it was a lot of fun.

The next meeting is on ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿด๐˜๐—ต ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ (that's next Tuesday) at ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ.๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿฌ๐—ฎ๐—บ. We will have coffee and refreshments as we hold o...
