Last week, our team had a fantastic day at the BFRS National Careers Fair in Colchester!

At 3t Training Services, we’re proud to support the Armed Forces Community as they transition into new and rewarding careers. It was great to meet so many talented individuals on their resettlement journey and discuss the many pathways available through our industry-recognised training programmes.

We offer a wide range of ELCAS-funded courses, including:

- Military to Wind
- Military to Energy “BOOST”
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Fabric Maintenance
- New Energy Assessor package

On Friday, we were delighted to welcome 90 pupils from four local schools to our Teesside Centre for the Future Teesside: Inspiring, Powering Project event.

The students had the chance to operate a mini crane, navigate a pallet truck through an obstacle course, practice safe switching operations on HV switchboards, learn about Mechanical Joint Integrity, and meet local employers to discover more about their businesses. The event was a fantastic opportunity to give young people hands-on experience in a real working environment, helping to inspire and prepare the future workforce.

It was a great day, thoroughly enjoyed by both pupils and teachers.

A huge thank you to Tees Maritime, SUEZ, Augean, MGL Group, Realise Training Group, and Middlesbrough College for their invaluable support in making the event such a success!

September has flown by, and our 3t Training team has been busy!

From hosting our annual 3t Golf Day, a Kitchen Table Day bake sale and recruitment events, to sharing exciting news - including the naming of our new vessel in honour of our longest-standing employee, and the launch of next month’s Iron Man Challenge with Cash for Kids - it’s been a month full of milestones and celebrations.

3t and Cash for Kids are joining forces to launch an Iron Man Challenge like no other - taking place on Saturday 11th October at our Aberdeen training facility.

We’re looking for 30 brave participants to take on three adrenaline-fuelled challenges:
• Water: Escape underwater helicopter, tackle life raft rescues, and test your grip strength.
• Fire: Navigate a foam-filled fire unit with breathing apparatus to recover hidden items.
• Skills: Race through confined spaces in a high-speed relay challenge.

This one-of-a-kind event isn’t just about testing your limits - it’s about making a real difference. All funds raised will go towards the Cash for Kids Winter Warmer Appeal, which provides vital warm clothing to over 3,000 children across the north-east every year. For many, this support is life-changing, ensuring they can stay safe, warm, and cared for throughout the harsh winter months.

We were delighted to welcome the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) to our Aberdeen facility yesterday for a Employers, Recruitment Agencies and ATP Network event with Connected Competence employers.

With over 30 attendees, the session delivered valuable insights on how employers can champion Connected Competence within industry advocacy, while also providing excellent networking opportunities for employers, approved training providers, and recruitment agencies.

At 3t, we believe in building a safer, technically competent, and transferable workforce - values that are at the heart of Connected Competence, so it was a real pleasure to host this event at our training facility.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a successful session.

3t Training Services is proud to unveil our newest training vessel, the George Masson - named in honour of one of our longest-serving instructors, who has dedicated over 35 years to advancing offshore marine safety training.

The vessel will primarily deliver the OPITO-approved ERRV Crew Daughter Craft Coxswain course, providing a safe, practical, and highly focused learning environment to prepares crew for real-world offshore operations.

On receiving this recognition, George shared: “The decision to name the vessel after me is a great honour. It is gratifying to know that the George Masson will continue to serve here, long after my retirement.”

We’re proud to celebrate George’s legacy while training the next generation of offshore professionals.
