The Royal Mint Museum has a scheme called Borrow a box. The box includes different coins from various countries, old coins from the pre decimal era and other interested objects from their collection. It comes with an audio device telling you about each item. We all found the talk very interesting. We learnt some new things and had a great time reminiscing about songs, pocket money, and when the money changed in 1971. A lovely afternoon and such an interesting topic.
Brandon was kind enough also to show us some of his coin collection. Thankyou Brandon.

Thank you Tynedale Hospice at home charity shop for coming in today with a Christmas stall. It has given our residents the chance to shop which a lot of them aren’t able to do anymore. Those who had a browse loved the experience and to be able to buy a new item or 2 was special for them. Thank you so much.

This afternoon we had the pleasure of attending Thumbelina at Ponteland Memorial Hall, performed by the wonderful Ponteland Repertory Society. 🌟

What a fabulous show from start to finish — full of colour, laughter, and incredible talent. Thank you so much to the society for facilitating our visit and putting on such an amazing performance. We truly had the best time!

It was especially lovely to receive a little shout-out at the end, along with some photos of our group with the cast of the show. We can’t thank you enough for making us feel so welcome. 💛🎭

Today we treated ourselves to something a little different — a homemade kiwi upside-down cake! 🥝🍰
It turned out absolutely beautiful, and we had plenty of compliments from everyone who tried a slice. Such a lovely twist on a classic, and a perfect way to brighten up a chilly day! ❤️

Our managers Paula and Lea wanted to do something to show our OUTSTANDING team how much they are appreciated. Our team work tirelessly day and night to provide the best service to our residents. Without them we would not have the home we have, and we would not have the amazing care we always strive to achieve daily. It’s their efforts that make our home a home for our residents to feel so looked after and happy. The dedication from all my staff is always noticed. It was especially nice to acknowledge our night angels who work whilst most of us sleep. Our night staff rarely get to see any family members and visitors, and they rarely see them, but they are there working hard. For our amazing admin Christine who is the first person all of us see daily and who keeps the home running. Our incredible kitchen staff and their culinary delights and the domestic team who make the place shine. Let’s never forget our activity stars Bex and Jen who bring the positive vibe and the constant entertainment
Our manager Paula said “Thank you Lea my deputy for being my constant rock. There is no I in team. It takes a whole team approach to make our home a success and we have more than achieved that. Our staff deserve every bit of praise for their hard work and dedication and exceptionally caring nature. I literally could not be more proud and so grateful that you are all mine… Thank you.
Paula also comments “I am not only one who thinks this about the staff with when families and visitors give us the best support and best feedback for which we truly are grateful. Thanks also to our amazing Families, Friends and all our visitors ”

It’s been quite a mild afternoon weatherwise. We put our coats on and planted the rest of our bulbs in the garden in the trough and in the flower beds. We planted tulips and daffodils and we did some weeding too. Hopefully next spring the bulbs will give us some lovely blooms! 🌹🌷💐
