This strengthens our initial design proposals, giving the products we design the best possible chance to make it to market with the original vision intact.

As an Industrial design consultancy, E3 Design have a passion for user driven design and believe our key offering is our ability to implement our technical knowledge early into the design process. We have an innovative and creative design team with a proven record of delivering products. Our designers have specialist skills in product/industrial design and development, with particular skills in de

sign for plastic injection moulding and high volume manufacture. Additionally we have developed specialist design skills in plastic mechanisms and drinking fluid dispensing applications

Our team is currently 6 full-time design employees, not including admin staff, students or the financial director. While all our designers have their own particular skills and strengths, all are very capable throughout our process from concept generation through to DFM. E3design has a wealth of experience in Consumer Product, Structural Packaging, Medical, Lighting, Industrial, DFM and even Fashion, this variety of experience allows us to better inform all of our work while still maintaining fresh and creative ideas.

🎉Great North Run 2026 | Teams Update 🏃

We are incredibly proud of our Designer, Hannah, who has completed her first half marathon in preparation for the Great North Run 2026 - what an achievement!👏

Hannah is running in support of Anthony Nolan, an incredible charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders by matching them with life saving stem-cell donors.

At E3Design, we love using our skills to support local charities close to home. We are helping The Upper Coquetdale Red Squirrel Group in Northumberland protect the native Red Squirrel population.

When the team approached us with a few practical challenges, we got straight to work.

- Reducing false alerts: Their remote alarms were being triggered by curious birds and deer. A simple clip‑on cover for the activation mechanism solved the issue, meaning the team now only responds to genuine alerts instead of checking twice a day.

- Improving wildlife camera setups: Standard camera brackets were often breaking or going missing, so we designed and 3D‑printed custom brackets that are durable, reusable and purpose‑built. With brackets pre‑installed at multiple sites, cameras can be swapped quickly with no drills or screws required.

These improvements will also support their citizen science projects; Virtual Rangers, where volunteers across the UK remotely monitor wildlife feeding stations throughout the Coquet Valley.

Every component was 3D printed using environmentally safe polymers, because supporting local charities and caring for the environment go hand in hand for us. It’s a privilege to play even a small role in protecting one of the UK’s most beloved native species. 🐿️

Having moved to the stunning Newcastle Quayside, what better way to settle in than with pickles and a fundraising mission! 🌉✨ Our new riverside location gives us the perfect backdrop to lace up and get those miles in. We couldn't have picked a better base to prepare for race day! 🏃‍♂️💪

And speaking of fundraising - E3Design is on a roll! 🥒 Our Technical Director, Peter Crasterfarian Angus, has once again worked his magic with a fresh batch of homemade pickles, expertly supported by his wonderful wife Melanie Angus Egdell, who kept the chopping going! Every jar purchased goes directly towards our incredible charities: Mind, Anthony Nolan, Breast Cancer Now and Mental Health Foundation, all of whom we'll be proudly running for in the Great North Run this September! 🙌

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported us so far - it truly means the world! Let's keep the momentum going!

FAT SCRAN FRIDAY ALERT! 🚨

Today we treated everyone to Detroit style pizzas from Square - their slices never disappoint! We got their Red Top pie and their NEW Hot Since '99 pie. 🍕

It is always lovely to sit around the table together at the end of a hard-working week to relax and natter away whilst scoffing our faces.

We have an exciting opportunity to take part in an innovation focus group in partnership with Newcastle Hospitals and THRIVE! 💬

The workshop is in Newcastle City Centre in September 2026 to listen directly to people with lived experience of stoma care. We want to hear about the challenges, routines and tips of those who either have a stoma or those who support people with it.

Our aim is to identify gaps in the support, products and information available to enhance the lives of patients by making their routines more comfortable and efficient.☺️

This week Peter Angus and THRIVE. travelled down to Llandrindod and Bangor to present our 'Inspired by Nature' healthcare space design. 🌳

It’s always a pleasure to connect with those who attend these sessions. The conversations and insights we gain are so valuable to help shape and strengthen the direction of this project.

Last week our Junior Designer, Hannah Dolman, travelled down to Carmarthen and Cardiff in Wales to present E3Design's healthcare pod design.

She found it extremely valuable by hearing people's personal experiences working in healthcare, receiving treatment themselves and all the issues they faced along the way.

We feel like we have made huge progress within this project after gaining so many inspiring ideas and making connections with people who would help this project grow. Thank you so much to everyone who ran or attended the sessions at Trinity Saint David and Techniquest!

This week our Technical Director, Peter Angus, is travelling to Llandrindod and Bangor for two more workshop sessions - we hope you have fun. 😄
