At Jane Brightman will join us again chairing the session ' Beyond the Tech: Workforce Strategies That Turn Innovation into Everyday Care'

📅16 March | 📍 Innovation Stage | ⏰13:10 - 14:00

What will you explore in this session?

Technology only becomes part of everyday care when the workforce has the confidence, clarity and skills to use it well. This session explores what it takes to move beyond short-term pilots and build a workforce capable of delivering sustainable Technology Enabled Care in practice.

Drawing on learning from the Skills for Care Impact Fund, wider workforce strategy and recent insight from Policy Connect, the session will highlight how organisations are strengthening workforce foundations across the sector. It will also explore the emerging care technologist role, offering practical insight into how new responsibilities can be introduced with clear intent and effective support.

Alongside this, we will share learning from TSA’s Virtual Home and related workforce programmes, demonstrating how targeted workforce development directly supports service quality, adoption and long-term sustainability. Attendees will leave with practical approaches, lessons learned and examples they can apply within their own organisations.

The Countdown Is On: ITEC 2026 is in Four Weeks!

📅 16 & 17 March 2026
📍 The ICC, Birmingham

ITEC 2026 is fast approaching, and we can't wait to see you there! This incredible two day event is a chance for you to network with sector experts and leaders and hear valuable insights across our Plenary, Innovation & Knowledge & Networking Stages. The content delivered at ITEC will be practical, evidence-based and implementable, aimed at people who run or commission TEC services across Local Authorities, NHS, housing and social care teams. This means you will return from the event with actionable strategies and case studies.

The 2026 conference will spotlight how community hubs and neighbourhood-based models are reshaping wraparound service delivery. Our focus: how TEC can enrich lives, strengthen neighbourhoods, and empower professionals to deliver care that is truly person-centred, integrated, and locally responsive

Day 1 | Plenary Stage | 10:00 - 11:00
The TEC Evolution: Connecting Communities and Enriching Lives

When technology works well, it changes how support feels in everyday life. This opening plenary focuses on that experience, looking at how digital TEC helps services respond earlier, work more closely together, and fit more naturally around people’s routines. It brings housing, health and care into the same conversation, reflecting how support is actually lived rather than how it is organised on paper.

✨ Catch up with our membership team ✨

Last week Charlotte Downing joined a panel at the Housing Innovation Show on The Smart Home Revolution; Robotics and IoT for Supported Living.

Charlotte said, “Great to be part of this exciting panel hosted by Amanda Leonard at Perfect Storm and seeing a growing focus on the overlap between housing and social care. Innovation is most powerful where these systems connect, supporting independence, managing risk proactively and delivering more joined-up outcomes for residents. This is an area TSA continues to champion, ensuring technology is embedded within wider care and support pathways, not operating in isolation. Thank you to the organisers and fellow panellists Mauro Dragone, Associate Professor of National Robotarium and Praminda Caleb-Solly, Director & Professor of Embodied Intelligence of Robotics for Good and University of Nottingham for an engaging discussion highlighting that with the right leadership and collaboration, technology can help us deliver safer homes and better outcomes.”

This week the membership team have been busy hosting and attending webinars.

We saw Gemma Oliver and Henry Lockett host the first TSA Member surgery of the year with important updates from Nav Hussain at BT/EE, Laura Pattisson at Virgin Media O2 and John Livermore at Openreach.

Gemma said, ‘The updates provided were incredibly valuable highlighting how far the digital switch has already progressed and how organisations need to act now’.

Charlotte Findlay and Charlotte Downing presented on a webinar in conjunction with Drew Frame from NHC/NHP.

Charlotte Findlay said “It was a pleasure to chair this week’s webinar. The message was clear: the digital migration date will not be postponed. To avoid a supplier demand bottleneck, organisations must act now. Those who haven’t started planning, need to prioritise this immediately. Moving to digital is not just about technology, it’s about enabling more proactive services for the people and properties within our communities.”

Charlotte Downing also attended the Yokeru webinar on “Future of PERS” and said "It's brilliant to see one of our members engaged with an international audience like PERS, some of whom will be in attendance at ITEC which will encapsulate some great learning opportunities"

The team is now actively preparing for . Whether this is your first time attending, your first time exhibiting, or even if you’ve joined us many times before, please feel free to reach out. We’re here to help you navigate the event, make the most of your time, and arrange any specific introductions you may find valuable.

From risk to readiness: Why you must act now to safeguard residents through the digital transition

📅 11 February
⏰ 2 - 3 pm

TSA and Northern Housing Procurement invite you to a focused one-hour webinar designed for housing professionals who need clarity on what the digital transition means in practice, and what action needs to happen now.

As housing providers face increasing pressures around safety, sustainability, and tenant wellbeing, Technology Enabled Care is becoming a core part of how risk is managed and people are supported. At the same time, the migration from analogue to digital telephone lines is accelerating, with full closure confirmed for 31 January 2027.

For many housing associations, a full switchover can take six to nine months. With less than a year remaining, the window for safe, compliant action is narrowing quickly.

This session will:
• Explain what the analogue to digital transition means for housing providers, including the technical, financial, and life-safety risks.
• Set out the legal responsibilities organisations must meet before the deadline.
• Provide clear, practical guidance on the steps required to achieve compliance and protect residents.
• Show how NHC Procurement’s Technology Enabled Lives framework offers a compliant, cost-effective, and time-saving route to market.
• Share tools and support that help organisations move from planning to action and build foundations for future service delivery.

You do not have to navigate this alone, TSA will bring sector insight and regulatory clarity. NHC Procurement will outline how they can support you at every stage of the transition.

This is a working session for people who need to make real decisions in the coming months. If the digital switchover sits anywhere in your risk register, this hour will save you time and uncertainty.

Session speakers include: Charlotte Findlay and Charlotte Downing, TSA, with Drew Frame, Head of Procurement, NHC Procurement

✨Another busy week for the membership team this week ...

Gemma Oliver attended a webinar called Practical AI: Home sensing to support safer independent living. Gemma said “Our TSA members Kyndi and Circada Care were flying the flag for the incredible work AI can do in care. The data that can be collected to inform family and carers on the health and wellbeing of an individual is truly staggering. Being able to make informed choices is so important for the long-term benefit of the individual”

Whilst Charlotte Downing and Gemma Oliver have been busy engaging with members virtually talking all things TEC and getting Exhibitors prepped for ITEC2026, Henry Lockett has been on the road in both Carlisle and Derby, demonstrating the TSA Virtual Home.

Henry said “It was fantastic to see so many frontline workers engaging with the Virtual Home training tool across both Carlisle and Derby. This engagement prompted valuable discussions around digital technology and how it can support and enhance day-to-day practice.

I also presented on the TSA and ADASS co-produced Blueprint. It is encouraging to see our members moving towards more proactive and preventative models of care, and the positive buy-in from staff highlights a shared commitment to the Blueprint and its benefits. This momentum demonstrates that the sector is heading in the right direction supporting long-term stability and enabling the delivery of the best possible care packages for people who draw on care and support.”

The team are also excited to be presenting on 2 webinars in the coming weeks:

📅 16 & 17 March 2026
📍 The ICC, Birmingham

ITEC 2026 arrives at a moment that genuinely matters for our sector. With the full digital switchover now less than a year away, services are already navigating the combined pressures of an ageing population, workforce shortages, and rising demand across health, housing and care.

At the same time, locally led innovation is accelerating. New community-based models of care and support are emerging, shaped by real places and real people. Interest in ITEC 2026 reflects that momentum, tickets are selling fast, and over 60 exhibition stands have already sold out in record time.

We’re delighted to begin sharing some of our confirmed speakers for 2026, including:
- Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson – Conference Chair
- Martin Green OBE – Chair, TSA
- Alyson Scurfield – CEO, TSA
- Warren Heppolette – Director, Prevention Demonstrator, Greater Manchester Combined Authority
- Jane Brightman – Director of Workforce Strategy, Skills for Care

This year’s programme will explore how community hubs and neighbourhood-based approaches are reshaping the way support is designed and delivered — and how technology enabled care fits naturally within these models to support independence, connection and the workforce.

Across the Plenary Stage, Innovation Stage, and Knowledge & Networking Zones, delegates can expect a rich mix of ideas, practice, and lived experience. With the digital switchover fast approaching, there has never been a more important time for the sector to come together — to share what’s working, be honest about what’s hard, and learn alongside one another.

The Membership Team is back and ready for action in 2026, with a busy year ahead. There are lots of exciting plans, events and engagement with our members at the heart of everything we do.

Last week, Charlotte Findlay and Charlotte Downing were invited to the House of Commons for the launch of TSA’s new 2026–2030 Business Plan, a fantastic way to kick off the year.

Our Business Plan positions TSA as a trusted leader, enabler and convener of TEC adoption at scale. Through clear strategic objectives, mission-led innovation, practical sector support and strong organisational foundations, TSA will deliver measurable impact for people, professionals and the TEC sector, guided by its core values of integrity, inclusivity, collaboration and credibility.

We were hosted by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and joined by sector leaders championing the role of enabling technology in enriching and empowering everyday lives.

Read the full business plan: https://www.tsa-voice.org.uk/about-tsa/tsa/tsa-business-plan-2026-2030/

Heading into 2026, what can you expect from the Membership Team?

• Our Membership Review is well underway. Building on insights gathered during 2025, we are developing a new membership proposition that reflects how TSA delivers a value-based model. There will be opportunities to engage with this process throughout 2026.
• We will continue engaging the Housing Sector and working with partner organisations to highlight why TEC services are critical in enabling people to live independently in their communities.
• We are also supporting members through the final push of the analogue to digital switchover. With only 54 weeks to go, the message is clear – you must act now. Guidance and resources are available at https://www.tsa-voice.org.uk/digital-shift/ or get in touch via membership@tsa-voice.org.uk
