Our firm was recently commissioned to carry out the total refurbishment and reparation work on the Taylor memorial and foundation at Whitley Bay Cemetery. This involved cleaning the white Carrara marble headstone and kerb surround, re-newing, re-building, and re-erecting the entire monument and, most importantly, adding the two crests to the headstone itself, namely those of England Rugby and Whitley Bay Rockcliffe Rugby Club. We were pleased and privileged to carry out this renovation work and are extremely proud of the finished results - we hope you will agree?

A bit of long shot but we are wondering if anyone in our locality knows of or knew of the Brown family - George and Bertha and their daughter Georgina. They are remembered on one of our family firms finest memorials in Earsdon Cemetery. This memorial was erected back in the 50's but it is conceivable that siblings of the late Georgina or their decendents still live in the area.

Our firm would like to give this monument some much overdue TLC including a clean and new chippings to the grave centre but ideally would like family permission.

Can anyone out there help us trace the family?

This is a memorial in Whitley Bay Cemetery that our firm erected in memory of probably the best centre-half in Newcastle United's history - until Big Dan Burn came along! Does anyone remember him?

This is a rather unique and outstanding granite memorial that we have erected in one of our local cemeteries. We are extremely proud to have supplied this piece of monumental craftsmanship and we do hope you all agree that this is a fine piece of work. Hopefully this will be a lasting tribute to the memory of this family's loved ones and a memorial that both they and we can be proud of for many decades to come.

Strettle memorials are looking for a well-educated person who is interested in establishing a career with us at our head office at Shiremoor assisting with the design and production of memorials. Some graphic design / computer knowledge and experience is required. An interest in assisting with administration duties within the office is essential.

We require a mature person for the role of a memorial fixer / labourer, with experience preferred in building / groundworks / layouts and foundations etc.

Clean driving licence essential (over 25 years old for insurance purposes only)

Must be physically fit and strong for 'all year-round' outdoor work.

Vacancy 2
We require a monumental workshop trainee to assist in the preparation and production of memorials. An experienced operative would be considered.
