Our trained Pharmacists can prescribe prescription medicines for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP or make an appointment.

This is called Pharmacy First.

The 7 conditions are :-

Impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
Infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
Earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
Sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
Sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)
Shingles (aged 18 years and over)

If you are not within these age ranges, a pharmacist can still offer advice and support decisions about self care treatment with over the counter medicines.

Check if it's a urinary tract infection (UTI)

Some of the symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI) may include:
-pain or a burning sensation when p*eing (dysuria)
-needing to p*e more often than usual
-needing to p*e more often than usual during the night (nocturia)
-needing to p*e suddenly or more urgently than usual
-p*e that looks cloudy

Your p*e may also be dark or smell. If this is your only symptom, it might be because you've not been drinking enough water.

Our trained Parkside Pharmacists can:
-offer advice on things that can help you get better
-suggest the best painkiller to take
-provide the same antibiotic treatment as a GP, if it's suitable for you
-tell you if you need to see a GP about your symptoms
