📢 Practice Closure for Staff Training – Tuesday 9th September

Due to essential maintenance being carried out by the Health Board on our I.T systems, the practice will be closed on Tuesday 9th September for a full day of staff training and internal meetings.

🔴 We will remain open for emergency medical needs only.

If you have an urgent medical issue, please call us as normal and we will assist you.

For non-urgent matters, including requests for repeat medication, we kindly ask that you wait and contact us on Wednesday 10th September, when normal service will resume.

📢 Important Update: New Lunchtime Closure Hours from 1st July 🕐

Earlier this year, we trialled closing the practice on Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes. This gave our team valuable time for essential training and allowed us to catch up on complex admin tasks.

🗓️ From 1st July, we will be closing every day between 1pm and 2pm.

During this time, we’ll remain available for emergencies—just give us a call or ring the doorbell.

This short daily break will help our team complete important behind-the-scenes work like processing referrals, test results, hospital letters, and patient recalls for abnormal results—more quickly and safely.

If you’ve received a call from an 01896 number you don’t recognise – it could be the NHS Borders Pharmacy Team working on behalf of your GP practice.
Our pharmacy staff might give you a call from an 01896 number (even if your GP practice has a different area code) to check your medicines after you’ve been in hospital or at a clinic appointment.
Please don’t ignore their call – they just want to make sure everything is accurate, update your GP records about your medicines and make sure that you have everything you need.
