LOOKING FOR GLIMMERS
The Small Moments That Support Your Mental Wellbeing

In a world that often feels busy, demanding and sometimes overwhelming, it’s easy for our minds to focus on stress, problems or what’s going wrong. But there’s something powerful we can train our brain to notice glimmers.

Glimmers are the small, positive moments in your day that spark a sense of calm, safety or joy. They might seem tiny, but they have a powerful impact on your mental health.

A glimmer could be:
• The warmth of sunlight on your face
• A kind message from a friend
• Your first sip of morning coffee
• A quiet moment of calm in a busy day
• Hearing a song you love

These small moments help signal to your nervous system that you are safe, present and supported. When we intentionally look for glimmers, we help our brain shift away from constant stress mode. Over time, this practice can:

• Reduce stress and anxiety
• Improve emotional resilience
• Support nervous system regulation
• Increase feelings of gratitude and wellbeing
• Help balance negative thinking patterns

🌿 A simple practice to try today “What were three glimmers I noticed today?”

They don’t have to be big. The magic is in noticing the small moments.

OVER THINKING
The Difference Between Helpful Problem Solving And Harmful Overthinking.
Why did my boss say that?
How should I strike up a conversation?
What if I talked too much at the meeting yesterday?
These are examples of the types of questions that might bombard you when you're overthinking. And rather than reducing your uncertainty, overthinking can keep you stuck.
It’s easy to confuse overthinking with problem-solving and you might convince yourself that, over-analysing and worrying is somehow productive, but these actions cause you to dwell on the problem at hand, prevent you from developing a solution and wreaks havoc on your mood.
🔹Things that may help :
🔹 Notice when you are stuck in your head.
Overthinking can become such a habit that you don’t even recognise when you’re doing it. Start paying attention to the way you think so you can become aware of the problem.
🔹Keep the focus on problem-solving.
Dwelling on your problems isn’t helpful - but looking for solutions is. If it’s something you have some control over, consider how you can prevent the problem, or challenge yourself to identify potential solutions.
🔹 Challenge your thoughts.
Your mind generally veers towards the negative road. Acknowledge that your thoughts may be exaggeratedly negative or unhealthy.
🔹 Schedule time for reflection.
Ruminating on problems or decisions for long periods of time isn’t productive, but brief reflection can be helpful.
🔹 Practice mindfulness skills.
It’s impossible to mull over yesterday or worry about tomorrow when you’re living in the present. Mindfulness will help you become more aware of being in the here and now.
🔹 Do something else.
Change where you are focusing your attention.

THE BOOBIE BRUNCH

Fiona and Rachel, want to welcome you if you are a women that is going through breast cancer, no matter what stage you are at.

We meet the first Wednesday of every month, at Avenue Tennis, Gillingham, Kent. 10-12pm. We have a private facebook group and a private WhatsApp group for you to ask any questions and get to know the ladies more. This is a supportive and safe community with no judgement. We have been meeting up now for the last 3 years, we also have social events (if you feel up to it) but most importantly this is a space where you can build connections with other women that will understand.

INTRODUCTORY CALLS

I thought I would give you an idea of what to expect in the 15-20 minute introductory video calls. Sometimes it is just not enough to hear about me on social media or my website. Reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step, the hardest step, so this call is a gentle, no pressure space for us to connect and get to know each other.

It's a chance for you to get a feel for me, and for us to see if I'm the right therapist for you before we start our work together. There is no expectation for you to decided anything on the day.

Firstly, I usually arrange a specific time to make sure you are in a private space and it's important you feel safe. This can build trust fro the start. If you feel comfortable, you can share a little about whats been going on for you, just at your own pace. We won't go to deeply into this as your wellbeing always come first

We can talk about how I work, the kinds of difficulties I can support, and what you might hope for from therapy. I might also check that this feels like a safe and supportive time for you to begin. You are welcome to ask questions, and we can talk about the practical things to, like how the sessions can take place (online, or in person) costs, frequency, location and what starting might look like if you choose to go ahead.

If you are feeling unsure, thats completely okay. I will always give you space and time to decide, and I can offer a follow up call if that will help. I take an email address if you are feeling happy to go ahead, so I can send over details of what we have discussed.

Most important of all, is this call is about connection, helping you to feel a little more at ease, especially if you are feeling apprehensive about taking the first step.

Angel Conference wow! Such an incredible day yesterday annual Angel conference. It was a room full of inspiring ladies wanting to make a real difference to other business owners, that are going through their own cancer journey. I was one of the founding angels and have been part of this community for over a year now. The community of Angels is growing and going from strength to strength. It was so lovely to meet so many other business owners that are genuinely trying to make a real difference. ❤️

Welcome to Simply Hypnotherapy

Hi I am Rachel, let me tell you a bit about myself. I am a very hard working Mummy to my gorgeous daughter Darcy. Having children really makes you reflect on life and put things into perspective. I had a bit of a reflection moment when I reached one of my milestone birthdays. I had been working in financial services for nearly 20 years, I felt like I was just existing and not really seeing the world for what it really was. I wanted to do something which I would get self satisfaction from and I really wanted to help people overcome their own personal challenges. Life is tough and pressured and many other things. I want to be the person that you feel you can come to, to help you through life’s everyday challenges. This is when I decided to have a complete career change and go back to the study books and this is how Simply Hypnotherapy was born.

I am a fully qualified hypnotherapist and I can help you overcome many concerns in a very comfortable, quiet and cosy environment. You can talk to me knowing that I will give you my full attention and we can work together to help you overcome whatever is troubling you.
