As 2025 draws to a close, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all the lovely families who have entrusted me with the services of their loved ones this year, as well as over the many years gone by. I also wish to thank all the Funeral Directors who continue to entrust me to represent them.

This time of year can be particularly hard for those who have lost loved ones, plus we continue to get reminders and live with grief throughout the year and years thereafter.
I put the following words together for a recent service, from several poems I have shared throughout the years.....

There’s a robin on my fence today,
A feather by my feet
A heart-shaped leaf that blows along
Beside me down the street

Your song played on the radio
This morning in the car
And just last night I could’ve sworn
I saw a shooting star

The sun and rain are dancing
Making rainbows in the sky
And on the slightest breeze I watch
A butterfly go by

And people might say these are not
The signs I know they are
That it is just coincidence
Your song played in the car

That it is just the sky
And it’s just the birds and breeze
A little windy weather
And the nature of the trees

But there is nothing little
About the way they make me feel
The sense of peace they carry
Is both comforting and real

So, keep on shooting stars to me,
Keep playing me your song
Whilst you dance atop the rainbows
And blow heart-shaped leaves along

Yes, keep on sending signs my love
I’ll always look around
For your butterflies on breezes
And your feathers on the ground

Then in this festive season
As that robin sings upon the gate,
its chest a flame against the grey,
soft as dawn, yet clear as day.
It tilts its head as if to say,
I’m here, I’ve never gone away.

May the peace of this season wrap around you like a warm blanket.
May the memories you hold bring comfort.
And may the light of love continue to guide you through the days ahead as we move on into 2026.

As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.

There's no cost for you or your family to get involved and create an online memorial.
We’ll share your candles on our page.

As we mark National Grief Awareness Week 2025, we join The Good Grief Trust in recognising this year’s theme: Growing with Grief.
Grief changes us, but it can also shape us. As we navigate loss, we learn new strengths, deepen our compassion and discover ways to carry our loved ones with us.

Growing with grief doesn’t mean “moving on” it means finding a way forward while honouring the past.
This week is a reminder that support is always available, and no one should face grief alone. We’re here for our community, offering space, understanding and a listening ear whenever it’s needed.

Today I have been putting together a Memorial Service that I have been asked to conduct by one of the lovely Funeral Directors I work with. At the service I will be talking about missing loved ones during the festive period. I will be encouraging others to talk about their loved ones and will be sharing some precious memories of my best friend and our antics when growing up (the edited version) lol. As I was putting everything together this photo appeared on my timeline, taken at Christmas the year before she sadly passed on suddenly. In the service I will also be talking about the signs that we relate to love ones being near, whether it be in a song, feather, butterfly, robin, rainbow or today in my case, a random photo. I intend to finish my service with the following words......

“May the peace of this season wrap around you like a warm blanket.
May the memories you hold bring comfort.
And may the light of love continue to guide you through the days ahead.”

The loneliest walk begins in silence 🌫️
Where shadows climb the edges of memory
And every step echoes a name
That is no longer spoken aloud

Grief moves like mist through the trees 🌙
Soft but unyielding
A presence you cannot outrun
A weight you cannot put down

The path ahead feels endless
Fading into a quiet, ghost-colored sky
Where yesterday and tomorrow blur
Into the same aching moment

But even in the emptiest hour 🖤
Love walks beside you unseen
A soft reminder in the cold air
That loss exists because love existed first

You carry them with you
With every breath, every heartbeat
Through the dark roads and quiet dawns
Through nights that feel too long

This road is lonely, yes
But you do not walk it alone
Their memory keeps pace with you
In every step you take
