Tonight’s match has sadly been rained off 🙁 but we will be at Newport City’s match next Sunday at 2pm against Blaenavon to collect any unwanted coats you may have 🧥☺️ Remember, if you bring a coat down to donate you will get half price entry to the game ⚽️

The box in the office for the Wrap Up Newport coat appeal is looking pretty full already! 🧥
Next week on Friday 14th November, we will be collecting coats at Newport City’s match against Cardiff Draconians (KO is at 7:30pm), and if you bring us some coats to this match you will get half price entry to the game! ⚽️
So come on down and support your local football team, and bring any coats you no longer want to give to a good cause 🫶🏻

Today we want to shine a light on our wonderful graphic designer, Karl Payne

He is responsible for designing all of our orders of service, and ensuring that families have a personalised design that reflects their loved one.

He will work with ANY ‘theme’ or design for orders of service such as beloved pets, holiday destinations, favourite football teams, favourite flowers, hobbies and many more. (He even did a bourbon biscuit themed one for us once!)

We feel that by working with a graphic designer, we can create orders of service that are not only truly bespoke and unique, but that are also of high standard and quality. This is important to us as we know that some people like to keep copies of the order of service after a funeral, and we believe that they should be perfect.

Thank you Karl, we salute you 🫡

Sadly this is so heartbreakingly true 💔 Just lately we are having more and more drivers on the roads being impatient and trying to push in on the Funeral Cortèges in between the Hearse and the Limousines with bereaved family members in, and even on funerals with our horses too.

This is happening to the point where accidents have nearly been caused because someone just wants to cut in or to cut through.

I appreciate we drive slower, but this is someone’s final journey, and this is done out of respect.

Whether this makes you 30 seconds, one minute or two minutes late for where you need to be, think about that person who has passed and the families that are following.

A final journey is so precious 🤍

Passed away peacefully at home on 19th September aged 87 years.

Much loved Dad, Grandad and Great-Grandad.

Funeral service and cremation on Friday 24th October at 4:00pm, at Langstone Vale Crematorium.
Donations can be made on the day in lieu of flowers to St David’s Hospice.
Funeral to be followed by refreshments at The Old Barn Inn, Magor Road, Newport, NP18 2EB.

We would like to hear your views on the future of St. Woolos and Christchurch Cemeteries to help ensure they are cared for and enjoyed in the years ahead.

We would like to hear your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on how the cemeteries and particularly the cemetery chapels within them could be reimagined. Your feedback will help us understand what matters most to the community and guide the next stage of planning.

In additional to the online survey, we will be holding consultation events at each cemetery between 10am-3pm on Saturday 11 October, where you can pop along and share your views with us in-person.
