Matriarchy isn’t women on top, it’s a circle with children and the vulnerable at the center.

It is not a mirror image of patriarchy, nor a reversal of domination. Matriarchy is rooted in care, responsibility, and collective survival. Power is not hoarded at the top—it flows outward, guided by the needs of those who require protection the most. Leadership is measured by nourishment, not control. Strength is shown through safeguarding life, honoring interdependence, and valuing empathy as intelligence. In this structure, women do not rule over others; they steward communities. It is not about supremacy, but balance—where dignity is preserved, harm is minimized, and humanity is sustained.

Just something I’ve been told by my guides to explain about reiki.
I recently saw someone asking about reiki in the area, and although my name was mentioned, another post said “Jane Doe is the best around.” Now this isn’t sour grapes as I’m a true believer that the right person will get to me. However I just want to explain if you are looking for this treatment, Reiki is not the person giving it, it’s an energy that runs through us as masters. We are conduits of this precious energy. Us, as masters are not good at reiki or better than someone else, it doesn’t work that way. Now I understand if we are looking for a massage, nails, hair etc some therapists can be better than others but reiki NO!
What you are drawn to is the person, does the therapist connect to you, make you feel safe, take time to listen, not rush you out quickly, be available after treatment for chats and advice. This is the persons energy you are drawn to, and yes I understand that. But please don’t think you are getting better REIKI, from me than Jo bloggs down the street because you are not. You are just resonating with the master.

If you are like me and find January a little overwhelming, try centering and grounding.

Place a hand on your stomach for ten seconds. Feel the temperature of your hand, the subtle rise and fall of your breath, the quiet rhythm that keeps you alive. You don’t have to do anything else, just sit quietly just noticing. Just notice the body you’re in right now.
Search the body for areas of tension, tension in your shoulders, your jaw, skull back or your hands. Dont give these areas a heading, its doesn’t matter why these areas feel like they do, your are just exploring and noticing. Let this simple attention to your own presence be enough. Ten seconds of noticing is enough to remind you that you exist fully in this moment, that you can arrive in yourself without needing to do more.
Now breath, notice the rise and fall of the tummy with every breath, notice the pauses between breath causing ripples through your nervous system, grounding you, giving you relief, and reminding you: being alive is already enough.

If you can, place your bare feet on the ground and imagine roots growing down from the bottom of each foot. Grounding you to Gaia and bringing you into the present moment.
Remember yesterday is gone and tomorrow hasn’t happened, but right now, the present is happening. Stay in the present moment.
This moment is a gift that’s why it’s called a present.

It’s been a reiki kind of week.

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a holistic healing modality that translates to “universal life energy”.

Reiki was founded by Japanese healer, Mikao Usui in the early 20th century and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication to healing others.

Reiki is best described as a high frequency energy that breaks up energetic blocks in the body to promote balance and harmony in mind, body, and spirit.
How does it work?

Reiki is performed by a practitioner placing their hands on, or slightly above their client in a series of non-invasive hand positions. During a session, Reiki energy is channeled by and flows through the hands of the practitioner and into the energy body of the client. As a truly holistic healing method, the whole person is treated, rather than specific areas.

Reiki promotes healing by activating the relaxation response which helps the body heal and balance itself at a deep level.

Important to note, reiki energy is intuitive and intelligent. It will always flow where it is needed most.
What do reiki sessions feel like?

Reiki sessions are very individual and each person experiences reiki differently depending on their need at that time. Most individuals experience deep relaxation.

Some experience reiki as sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colors.

Others can have an emotional response, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing balance to be restored.

What are the benefits of reiki?

There are truly so many benefits of receiving reiki, the most immediate being a sense of relaxation, peace and security.
