As a familiar face in the practice, many of you will have seen Ellen during your visits over the years. This Friday marks an incredible milestone—Ellen is celebrating 30 years with the practice!

She first joined as a part-time receptionist while at college, before going on to train and qualify as a Dispensing Optician. In 2006, she became a partner in the practice, and by 2016, she proudly took over as sole owner.

While some team members have changed over the years, you can still count on a warm and friendly welcome from Ellen, Katherine, Helen, and Claire whenever you come in for your eye examination.

This week, the College of Optometrists and RAC continued our campaign to raise awareness of the impact of on drivers’ vision as a key road safety concern.

The latest research found:
• 63% of all drivers say they are subjected to from vehicles behind that they can’t avoid, of which 14% say it happens regularly
• a third of those affected by dazzle (33%) feel less safe when driving at night
• a quarter (25%) say it knocks their confidence behind the wheel

Our advice for drivers was featured across UK media, with highlights including:

That’s a wrap for Cornealius the Eye Elf! 👀
He's packed his tiny suitcase and is heading back to the North Pole to help Father Christmas get ready for the big day!
He’s had a brilliant time causing a little mischief, sharing eye-care tips and spreading festive cheer. Thank you for following his adventures!
