REGIONAL CARE AWARDS 2025

On Wednesday 24th September, Partners in Care (the regions care 'umbrella' body) hosted its AGM along with its annual awards, promoting and recognizing excellence in care locally.
I am DELIGHTED to report that out of 11 categories we were shortlisted for 7 and won 3 with runners-up in the remaining 4.
It is a wonderful recognition of hard work and dedication that our staff put in every day.
WE WON:
* Lisa Smith - LEARNER OF THE YEAR - reflecting her massive effort to firstly become computer literate and then mastering the huge care-planning software we have adopted over the last 18 months - Lisa is the lead on producing the care digital plans
* Michelle Harmer - CHEF/CATERING TEAM MEMBER OF THE YEAR - we spoke about her cheff-ing skills, the fact that she knows the likes and dislikes of every resident and see them all every day with menu options, she manages the kitchen and supports Dee, she manages all the ordering via apps (and often at home), and will always do 'special' individual meals, plus she has managed our change to recycling.
* Environmentally Sustainable Care Provider of the Year - we majored on the last 10+ years building programme, from new roofs, loft insulation, double glazing, LED lights, heating systems, to most importantly, our array of Solar Panels which since 2019 have generated over 77 Mega Watt Hours of power which has saved 14.8 tons of CO2 emissions.
WE WERE RUNNERS UP:
* Gill Gannon for Registered Care Manager of the Year
* Jan Bailey for Activity Coordinator of the Year
* Paulette Hicklin for Domestic Team Member of the Year
* Sambrook House for Care Provider of the Year
A fabulous achievement all round and my CONGRATULATIONS goes to the whole team!
