Ashton Acoustic that came in with unplayably high action. This one had sat unplayed for years.

We pulled the frets, levelled and re-radiused the fretboard, installed new Medium/Highest fretwire from StewMac. The neck on this one wasn’t made the best in the factory, so it was tricky getting everything settled right. They hadn’t installed the fret dots evenly!

Then we reshaped the bridge, handmade a new nut out of bone, restrung it and set it up. Now this one plays fantastically.

It also needs a new preamp and Piezo, but that’s a job for another day!

Cracking little Lowden Ed Sheeran model that needed a bit of TLC. After sorting out some minor electronics issues we reseated and glued in all of the frets. Levelled, crowned, polished them up and gave it a proper setup.

Great value for the price, up there with Taylor and Martin in terms of quality.

Kramer Sm-1 in for one of its twice annual services.

Be sure to keep on top of your instruments maintenance schedule. The cold and decreased humidity of the autumn and winter cause the wood to contract and then expands when it gets warmer and more humid.

This has a significant affect on how your guitar will play. Not maintaining your instrument regularly can lead to lasting damage that will either be expensive or impossible to rectify.

So if it’s been a while (or never), be sure to book in today!

Mexican lefty Jazz Bass.

This one needed a good bit of TLC before we converted it to play with the 65-130’s in B standard. When you up the gauge that much you need to replace the nut in order to have correct string spacing.

We hand made and fitted a brand new bone nut, polished up the frets, gave it a good clean and set it up.

Remember that if you’re changing String Gauge, Tuning, or Both that you need to set your instrument up. Otherwise it will change both the way it feels to play and the intonation!

Gibson SG - Jumbo Stainless Steel Refret.

This SG came in with pretty low frets, a slight neck twist, inconsistent width fret slots that had massive pools of glue in the corners, a bridge that had a wildly incorrect radius, a fretboard that was deformed and had its binding over scraped in the factory.

It took a lot of work to get this thing into the condition that it’s in, but that condition is now fantastic! Beautiful Jumbo Stainless Steel Jescar Frets and now a dead straight neck.

New Wiring harness with metric sized CTS pots, Orange Drop caps and Gavitt Wire hand wired in a 50’s configuration and fitted ✅
New handmade bone nut from a blank ✅
New Gotoh Bridge fitted (Old one had buckled) ✅
Frets reseated, levelled, crowned and Polished. ✅
Deluxe Setup in E Standard with D’Addarios 10-46’s ✅

This thing can easily go toe to toe with any Gibson out there.
